Anyway, here we go...
I woke up around 9:30am after a long night out Saturday night. I for some reason thought it was a work day but immediately got happy when I realized it wasn't. I putzed around for awhile, showered and all that other stuff and finally left sometime after 11. Ugh, I am so frustrated by all the Marquette Interchange construction, it makes it impossible just to get on the freeway which I live right next to! I have to go an extra 5 miles out of my way just to hit the onramp.
Finally got to the park at noon (after a long delay at the Wi/Il border with the Toll Plaza construction). I hit one really big puddle when I drove into the entrance and this huge wave almost comsumed my car, it was awesome. Flashed my parking pass and parked in Lot 22. I actually waited in my car for a few just because the rain got really heavy. Finally, I sucked it up and just got out and went to "check in". The rain didn't seem as bad once I got outside of my car. I was sorta mad that the friends I was supposed to go with ditched just because of the weather, wusses.
The first thing I went on was the Space Shuttle America. It was nice to be indoors and I enjoyed the ride. The row I was in actually was filled all the way to the entrance, I've never seen it that busy.
Next, I headed to the Hometown Fun Machine. I waited one ride cycle and whoa, the seats were soaked and it was hard to sit in a puddle with cargo shorts, eek. I loved the ride though.
Then I went on the Orbit. This was fun. The ride ops were great and cheerful despite the fact that they were stuck in the rain all day.
The Demon was next. NO LINE! I rode in the back seat of the yellow train. I still feel the drop on this one in my stomach more than any other coaster there (well Deja Vu comes close).
Decided to go on River Rocker next. Walked right on and even though I was soaked by this time this was intense. The sounds the ride made while the "tire break" kicked in were hillarious.
Then I went on Raging Bull. This one had a line all the way down the steps that go to the station but it was only a 5 minute wait. I rode the back seat on the teal train in the back seat. I will admit that I hate sitting on the outter seats on this one just because the cars are so "open". But I suppose that is what makes this one so much fun. I couldn't see much of what was happening during this because of the pelting rain. I should've put the hood up on my sweatshirt but it was already soaked from the day so far.
Went on Chubasco next. Walked right on! I spun that cup so fast that I was actually stumbling by the time I walked off.
Headed to the Viper after that. There was about a 20 minute delay since someone dropped their glasses under the track in the station but it was up and running pretty quickly. Rode the front seat and whoa, other than the lifthill I don't think I was in my seat through most of the ride. That was awesome.
I hit some shops after that(don't remember the names) just to get out of the rain. I found some cool stuff but didn't buy them "yet" just because I didn't want to carry them around.
Next, went on the American Eagle. Yay, the Red side was open. I like this side the best. Waited a few cycles for the back seat. There was this green sludge at the bottom of the mid-course helix that was nasty but cool to look at from a safe distance above.
I went on Fiddler's Fling next. I got right on and was glad there were the "umbrellas" on top because the rain was getting worse. Of course once the ride started I got pelted and more soaked than I was. This ride was pretty painful too because you are smashed into the side when it's going full force.
Then I went on the East River Crawler. The AWESOME ride-op let me on even though the ride was about to start so I didn't have to wait. Was an awesome ride and I spun alot and had no sense of direction of where I was until it stopped.
After that I rode King Chaos (which had just opened for the day) I rode it twice in the front seat and then 2 more times in the back seat(we had to shift around a bit to let other riders on). WOW, I love this thing so much. Much better then the ones they have at the carnivals.
I was really cold and wet and the timing was perfect so I went to the Bugs Bunny show @ the Orleans Theater thing just in time to catch the next show. This was so much fun and it was great seeing all the Loony Tunes characters. This was the same show I wanted to see in June when I was there with Mimi but we saw the Marvin Martian thing in the Pictorium instead that day. Daffy Duck is still and will always be my fave and he rules the show (but I love Sylvester to). I was impressed by all the lighting and stage props as well as the entire flow of the performance. This ruled and I hope they will run this show in the years to come.
Then it was off to my FAVE COASTER Batman. There was no line and I rode in the front seat (I am normally a "back seater" but on this one you need to ride the front). I was on the far left and that rocked! My hands were numb by this time from the cold and being soaked but yeah it was still great.
I doubled back to the Mardi Gras area and rode King Chaos again...but for some reason the ride changed a bit and you only flipped twice instead of 5 times but whatever, it was still fun.
Next, I went on Superman: Ultimate Flight. I rode in the back seat and this was a blast. I found out from the ride op that the first loop in the "pretzel" part is 4g. Cool.
Then I went on Condor...I love this ride so much! I used to be afraid of it because it hovers on high ground with losely bolted cars but now it's pretty cool.
Went back to Mardi Gras again and rode King Chaos 2 more times. Then I went on Big Easy Balloons and Jesters Wild Ride, just to say I did.
I woulda rode King Chaos a few more times but I was FREEZING! For some reason the cold really hit me hard and I was actually shaking like an idiot.
However, I was too close to Batman so I had to ride that again. Got the front seat again and that was fun but even though the rain stopped I was numb and cold.
Headed to the Eagle again and rode that once. Ugh, I felt like a wuss because I was FREEZING and didn't enjoy it at all.
I was planning to ride some more coasters on the way to the front but I was seriously DONE.
It was such an awesome day but I was so glad to get into my car in the parking lot, crank the heat and go back home.
Yeah, I whined about the cold and rain alot but I will take a day like this over a hot, humid, crowded visit any day. Can't wait to go back again next week.
