Me and my friend left at 8:45 and got there at 9:30 so we can get his free ticket. So at 10:00We ran to Deja Vu, but it was closed because it was raining. So we ran to Raging Bull and got 3rd dispatch on Raging Bull for the front. It was about a 5 minute wait. So next we went to River Rocker. We were the only people on the ride when we were on. Next, we went to Demon. It was a walk on for front row and we got a re-ride because therir was nobody in line. So we went to American Eagle Red, we went on front row was a walk on. I went on Iron Wolf a 5 minute wait for row 5. After Iron wolf we went to superman because V2 and batman was closed. Superman was a 2 minute wait for back row. We went to get something to eat. Then we went to Viper it was a 2 minute wait and we got front row. Then we went to raging bull on row 7 it took 2 minutes to get on. Then we went to batman 7 minute wait for row 8. How many rows of cars were in the parking lot? What time did you leave?

So we arrived at the park around 2:30, rain, rain, rain. As we entered announcements told of the cancellation of the contests today due to the weather. However in a moderate rain we rode Viper, Bull, King Chaos. The rain increased around 4:00 all Coasters went down. So onto Condor, Rue La Dodge, Columbia, then lunch and shopping. At 5:45 the rain all but stopped. Up went all the operating coasters until...., Yes while sitting on the front row of Demon ready to dispatch the phone rings, at 6:15 every ride except what was along Orleans Shut Down. The operater said "Most attractions are closing early but the park will remain open until 7:00. Hello, it's not raining and Eagle, Bull Viper, Demon, Batman, Orbit closed. So we head over to Marvin in 3D and enjoy it with 17 other people. While confused guests walk around looking for anything to ride. This should be added to the list of this seasons problems. Who could have made such a bone headed call? First Shappro's crazy changes now park operations stupid call well Happy 45th. I am so glad it struck me this season Cedar Point and Holiday World cares far more about it's guests, as Six Flags has lost it way. Thank goodness we will visit Cedar Point and Kings Island next weekend.

^ Awesome, glad you wont be clogging up the lines for the rest of us, It does say that hours of opperation are subject to change and rides and attractions including new ones can close with little or no advanced notice.

Exactly, what rides were open at this time? How crowded was it at this time?? To me, it makes sense to close a number of rides at this time because no one is in the park. However, they shouldn't close all of them. In my opinion, Batman, Demon, Raging Bull, Viper, American Eagle, Spacely's, and Superman should have been open.

Whizzer, Deja Vu, and Iron Wolf are exceptions because of how they operate. V2 was having trouble, and Ragin Cajun is not worth the time of day in rain. The list of flats should have went down to, but still, there should have been enough rides open!

If they just kept the Pictorium, Columbia, and Space Shuttle America, that is not enough rides that are open even at 6:15.

At 6:15, can you tell me what was open?? Was it just those rides that were closed, or was there more??

Wiiman, you really need to think things through. Do you have any idea how much money the park lost just from being open from 10-6:30? They coudlve easily called it a day after a few hours but they decided to stay open and make sure all the rides were fully staffed all day. The coasters even re-opened after the big storm and there was NOBODY in the park, I saw 5 empty rows on most of the Raging Bull trains.

Also consider the fact that rides can run in rain, but when its raining all day they start having major problems. I know this was the case with a lot of rides yesterday.

Whizzer- Electric lift, if they ran it in rain thered be a big light show (and forest fire)
Ragin Cajun- Bumps
Viper- Slides through transfer brake
Déjà Vu- Miscatches
Demon- Booster tires slip train overshoots brake 4
Iron Wolf- Booster tires slip and train overshoots station
Sprockets- Lift tires slip, train rolls back
Ricochet- Mechanical parts fill up with water and causes huge problems if cycled when wet
River Rocker- Booster tires slip and makes really loud noises that not only freak people out, but is bad for the tires and belly plate

Yesterday all these rides were run as long as they possibly can (Vu obviosley didnt open, but they were ready to open it if it stopped raining). The fact the rides closed at 6:30 was really nice of the park cause they couldve easily closed it at 1 or so but they decided to stay open and loose a ton of money.

I can't agree with all those rides including Demon, Viper, V2, Ricochet (It was working just fine in downpour of rain!), and Spacely's. I understand the rest of these.

Reread my post, I said "after long periods of rain." All those rides were running yesterday till the long periods of rain started interfering with their operation mechanically, its normally really obvious also, especially with River Rocker screeches like crazy. Youll notice it with Ricochet when it takes forever to start oscillating, and Demon's booster tires start making strange friction noises.

V2 has LIM's, which make electricity when its running.

Rain+Electricity=Bad outcome

it could have been the LIMs
but it could have also been the motion sensors on the sides of the loading platfrom.
maybe a piece of paper flew in and set it off, causing the ride to stop near the twisted spike

and i agree with SFGAm07, Ricochet has a lot of problems when its raining, yeah it can run in pouring rain, if and only if the operator has it constantly running so it doesnt fill up with rain.
