Or maybe because maintenance is the only ones who can restart the ride?

They told us "Now we are having problems starting it up again"

That's rather unusual. When I used to be a lead at Demon, quite a few years ago, the general procedure was to stop the train from entering/leaving the station (if anyone walked on to the platform). To do that, it simply requires just one person (operator or attendant) to let go of their advance button(s). The only time we did have trouble with that is when we did that, but then we couldn't get the train to move again. That was the only time we needed maint. to fix our problem.

Maintinence I'm pretty sure is required to restart the ride in the event of an E-Stop.

In response to post above me, I'm pretty sure they meant the ride area itself, not the platform.

I had a bad experience at FF once, I don't know if anyone read my trip report from last year im sure you did. If you remember this story please stop me from telling it again. I fell asleep in the jeep outside of GMH and everyone surrounded me and one of the commandors yelled in my ear and I practically fell out of the car because of how freaken scared I was. Here's a hint, don't fall asleep in a jeep while there are people that yell in your ear are around because it's not exciting at all.
