Holiday World advise

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby Trailblazer Tony on July 28th, 2006, 1:09 am
Hey everyone! There might be a topic about this already, but i didn't notice any for this year and i was wondering if anyone would mind offering any advise for a first timer going to Holiday World. Any rides that stand out, how much time i'd need to spend there, how the waterpark is, anything would help. My goal is to not look like a tourist. :D So if anyone has any opinions, post away!

I would suggest riding Raven and Legend before riding voyage.

Also, they almost kicked me out for cussing in line so I guess watch your language?

You really only need one day, they only have 3 major coasters. And yeah, I would hit Legend and Raven then Voyage. If you go on Voyage first, the other two will suck.

Yes you can't use any bad language at the park. Ride Raven, then Legend, then Voyage. The water is a blast, its fun, the one wave pool in the back has 3 foot waves in it! Hats and fannyie packs are not allowed on the coasters. And Warning, The Voyage is a wild and out of control coaster, your butt will be off the seat. And theres no charge for parking, soft drinks(Pepsi products) and sunscreen.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

That is like saying after riding Voyage, all other wooden coasters suck. If you are that jaded with riding coasters, find another hobby.

Raven and Legend still kick ass after riding Voyage so don't listen to this guy.

Trailblazer Tony:

If you live in the Chicago area and are planning on driving first thing to Holiday World, I would suggest taking Rte 41 south to I-64.

The main interstates are all out of the way.

Chitown-
How long does your route take? I'm going mid-August and I've been looking for a better way to get down there, your route seems pretty good.

The Route 41 route, takes about 5 and a half hours or so.... Do remember that the time changes atleast twice from central to eastern and back again when you use this route.

As Galvan said, about 5.5 hours. It is the best route down there. Most of Rte 41 is pretty much like an interstate with very few stoplights. Take this route, it is the most direct.

Well if he goes on Voyage last, Raven and Legend will seem better.

I feel like almost every discussion topic I've gone to on this site had an argument form, usually over something stupid. Though it may not be my place to say so, please don't create yet another one.
Eh.......I got nothing.

So, I just got back.

Voyage was amazing.

But...

...the fact that there is no where to eat in Southern Indiana except Subway kind of sucked.

Well, it did suck.
