New Coaster Rumor?????

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Xthanthus on August 1st, 2006, 4:40 pm
I've been hearing a new rumor float around about possibly a new coaster coming to Six Flags Great America because alot of Six Flags parks are in financial chaos so they may be moving a ride out to us if one closes.

Thing is what ride would they take out to make room or will they do what they did with the water park and just take out more parking space.

But my biggest worry is what ride would they possibly take out.

Here's a list:

1. The Demon

2. American Eagle

If anything we could be seeing the end of the Eagles days here soon, the ride is getting more and more costly with replacements and it isn't getting alot of people on it even when it was running it backwards.

Also what type of coaster could they bring to us?

I think that there is the possibility of sfgam getting maybe a flat, because of some more of the parks being closed. I personally think that the only new rides that sfgam will get in the future will probably be some sort of new waterslide in HH.

Thing is their's talk of Six Flags closing down Magic Mountain and Great America has more than enough space if not the ablility ot buy some space cheap to be able to fit at least one of the coasters from there, and Magic Mountain has some top motch one's I want to go on. Most notably the coaster: X.

Magic Mountain will never close down. California is not going to let that happen.

Then why don't you go there. It is pretty fun. I agree with LC3 Magic Mountain won't close, but I think that Eagle takes up way too much space. You could fit 2 maybe 3 coasters. In that area

Well being only 15 i'm @ my parents will on where we will go for vacations. I would love to go to MM just to go on Superman, X, Colossus, Viper and all that. But very recently Six Flags has been in a HEAP of debt and all.

But being the coaster enthusist that I am I plan in my lifetime to go to every Six Flags and large amusement park in America.

ALSO

I would murder someone if they got rid of the Eagle I was pissed enough when Shockwave went down.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

State of CA or the city of Valencia in fact has no say at all weather or not SFMM continues to operate as an amusement park unless they plan on buying it from Six Flags if they do indeed sell it.

Not Necessarily. The city has the right to zone the area, and if a housing deployment is to be built in its place then the city would have to authorize the re-zoning of it. If they don't there is nothing that the person who owns it can do. More then likely they will be asking for the Re-zoning before they even purchase the park, so another words it will be an amusement park as long as the city wants it to be that. Will Six Flags own it? That is a different story.
