7/30/06, Hot Hot Hot!

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby LAFFfan4lyfe on July 31st, 2006, 9:24 am
So yesterday, i underestimated time in the morning, and so we got to the park at 8:20. we got into the parking lot by 9, and because i needed to get my dad into the park for free parking, we didn't get into the park until 9:50 (we took separate cars).

My friend Nicole and I headed to Vu first, but while we were in line, it started pouring, and the ride was closed down. I wasn't sure what would be up, so I decided to have us go to Demon, in thought that someone might be there to chat. I was wrong, and we ended up waiting through the rain for the a ride in 6:1. We rode, and on the ride, i saw that the line for HH was back by the games leading to southwest territory, and the Raging Bull line wasn't in queues, but rather almost all the way back to the Crazy Buffalo Saloon.

After Demon, we headed to Eagle....it was still closed for rain. We skipped it and went to Iron Wolf. We rode second to last row. I've definetly mastered the moving your head with the ride thing (i'm 5'1 so i get a lot of head banging most times). That made the ride better.

Next, we stopped by Camp Cartoon Network to see a Ride Op friend, and he told us to ride Spaceleys. Kiddie coasters are always fun...and i had a great on-ride photo.

Next we went to ride Batman, skipping V2 because i dont' like that ride. We rode in back row for batman, and as always i love this coaster. It's becoming my favorite one.

after batman, we couldn't stand the heat anymore, so we headed out of the park to get our towels and bathing suits to go to HH. We got in with no problems, changed, and gave our stuff to my dad. First we headed to the wave pool to get a bit wet. We stayed for an entire wave cycle, and then headed over to the slide complex with the atomic slides.

we rode the blue and green bowl slide, and then went back around to ride the purple body slide (the blue one was for the people on the left side of the line, purple for the right side). I prefer the blue body slide.

next we headed to the wahoo racers, and my brother, Nicole and I raced each other. I won. Afterwards we headed back to my dad for lunch at the food places. I had chicken fingers...yum!

After this, we left my brother behind and went to ride wahoo racers again...the line was crazy. I won again. Afterwards, we rode the turquoise slide on hurricane mountain.

next we moved to the family slides, and we rode the turquoise and green one. Nicole and I were flying though that slide. It was in that line when we noticed the line for Tornado.....it was freakin huge!!! We decided to skip it yesterday because of that.

After the family slide, we decided to go play in Skull Island for awhile. I rode the orange slide while in there, since all of the other slides were pretty packed in there. We spent awhile in there, and we stood under the big bucket a few times.

We were having to figure out whether we would stay or go, since my dad was going to be leaving, so we decided to hit the wave pool again. We caught two wave cycles and then got out. we went under the bucket in skull island once more, and headed back to change.

we headed to put our stuff in the car, and then got back inside. Superman's line didn't look too busy, so we got cups of water, and headed to the line. It stopped back at the first character sign, and within five minutes of being in there, the ride broke down. We didn't know how long it would be, so we skipped out of the line.

we headed back into Yankee Harbor, and went back on Batman. There was air conditioning in the last part of the tunnel, and after waiting ten minutes, we got on back row again. We found a brand new souvineer sport bottle in there too, so I took it and sanitized it afterwards.

we were going to hit eagle, but my head was pounding, and it was really hot, so we decided to leave.

It was a busy day, and it was really hot. my friend and i headed to gurnee mills afterwards, and I think we probably had more fun there than at SFGAm. It was a good day though.

I bet you had that heat wave we had down in Cincinnati on saturday. After riding Batman for the first time I loved it, even to in the front seat. You had a fun time it looks and sounds like.

If you went outside in this heat they say the best way to cool off is to take a cold shower and/or swim in a pool like the wave pool at HH because, believe it or not, that can cool your body off 25 times better than air conditioning. I heard that on the news today.

Not that HH wave pool, that thing is like warm bath water they keep it so heated. I would say standing under the buckets in Skull Island would be your best bet to stay cool.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

^It was warmer than everything else because of the heat, then the sun did the rest.

I agree, the wavepool is usually the warmest water temperatures in HH.

Did you find this on the exit side of Batman? You probably stole one the sport bottles given only to ride ops.

The employees dont get souverner sport bottles, they get the clear ones that say Six Flags on them, so she couldn't have stole an employee's bottle.

I thought the word "souverner" was used in the sentence as a noun as if she was saying, "I've stolen a little souverner for myself." But now I understand. Most likely it wasn't a cast members, but was probably abandoned orrrrrrr belonged to a rider on the other train. Though cast members sometimes DO get souverner sport bottles, but only in the extreme case that the clear bottles, with the blue top and Six Flags lettering, become scarce. According to my sources, they can be purchased in a Games & Merchandise Warehouse backstage for around a cost of $1.08.

no, i found the sport bottle on top of a garbage can before i got on. I just cleaned it out with soap in the bathroom, and asked the people at funnel cake foundry for a new straw.
