Anything new at fright fest this year?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Is there supposed to be anything new done this year for fright fest? Is AE the only coaster that gets changed, except for the names, or what? It is my first year going, and im super excited about going. Also, is it scary going during fright fest, i wouldnt say i get scared easily, but i do enjoy the fun in getting scared.

Who knows what will be new at fright fest, all i know is a lot of the rides go under a transformation, including, Demon, Iron Wolf, Giant Drop, etc, and a lot of special effects, facades, decorations through out the park, trust me, there will not be a boring moment at Fright Fest.
Demon is the coolest ride i've ever been on

^Oh, I think that is when it's at its best. Ah, the magical times of fright fest!

To answer some of your questions...

AE really doesnt get changed except for "Tiny" and her babies on the helix.

The rides that do get changed are...
Rue Le Dodge- Rue Le MOURGE- Is completly enclosed, lights, special FX, and other stuff.
Roaring Rapids- Blood River- Water red, special effects, decorations, everywhere, and the tunnel is made to be very creppy
Iron Wolf- Iron WAREwolf- nothing excep for the name
Demon- special FX, fog in tunnels, decorations, new sign, and a whole bunch of crap
Giant Drop- Hellovator- sound FX and lighting sometimes at night.
Chubasco- Terror Twister- completly enclosed, lights, loud music, zombie DJ, decorations

and usualy they change the shows
Grand Music Hall- LAFF (Love at FF)
Theater Royale- i forgot the name of the show but its about two kids who are dared to spend the night in a cemetary
SSA- usualy SUPERSTITION
Pictorium- Haunted Mansion 4-D

as far as the scare factor goes, its as scary as you make it. IF your a teen like me, its more fun than scary cause its fun to talk and mess around with the characters. As far as areas....
This is on a 1-10 scare factor for MOST people
Carousel Plaza- 1-2
Seven Sins Cemetary (Orleans place) 7-9
Area 51 (Hometown Square) 4-6
Mardi Gras, scared of clowns 6-8, not scared of clowns 4-7
Pirate Harbor (Yankee Harbor) 4-7
Yukon Territory, last year a 0 because they didnt have anyone in there, but this year around a 6 because they'll have the warewolves in that area
NECROPOLIS- day: 5-8, night: 7-9 1/2
County Fair- 0-1
South West SCARE-itory- 3-6
Illinois TROLLway (you'll know it when you see it  ) 4-7

HAUNTED HOUSES
Fallen Giant day- 2-5
Internal Nightmare (Fallen Giant night) 6-8
DOOM House *NEW* this year so ?-?
MAUSOLEUM OF TERROR 6-9

THeres really not much else to say, just go there and see for your self!!!!

Hope i helped.
YEA!!!! THREE MONTHS TO GO!!!!!!!

No, they don't speed it up, it is an illusion caused by the darkness. Anyways. they don't have control on how fast you can spin, you control that.

Isn't that LAFF??

Last year Theater Royale contained that one show that hypnotises (sp) people. I don't remember the name, but I know it had that show last year.

Are they really bringing that back again this year? It was pretty awsome last year but I'm not sure if I would go through it again.

Okay I detected some problems with your rundown of ff2006...

The rides that do get changed are...
SSA- Superstition- Elvira's tour of her haunted theme park specifically the roller coaster "house of superstition"

and usualy they change the shows
Demon Revue- Dancing Puppet Characters at the reflection Pond
Pictorium- haunted Castle 3-d
Parades- Day: Fiesta De Los Muertos
Night: Zombie Jamboree
Grand Music Hall- Love at first Fright
Nothing in the Amphitheatre
Manny B. Monster
Dead Elvis- Not confirmed returning this year
Theatre Royale- Susan Rosan: Mistresss of Mesmerism

Okay and basic character breakdown:
Carousel Plaza- Nothing
Hometown Square- Area 51
County Fair- Scarecrows, Werewolves, and gypsys in the revolution area
Southwest-Return of Dead Man's Gulch Storyline
Yukon- Wizard University- Family Area
Yankee- Pirates and new Swamp Witch Character
Trollway- Same as last year
Mardi Gras- Clowns
Orleans- Vampires

HAUNTED HOUSES
Fallen Giant/Internal Nightmare are not confirmed
Maus returns
New "Fun House" Haunted Attraction replacing Sleepy Hallow- Doom never went through.

That's Pretty Much All that is released at this time. Also keep in mind that this is all still in developement according to JPM's website, so things can and will change.

According to a friend who wants to auditon for JPM this year, they are supposed to have Harry Potter type of wizards. Don't know if it was changed or anything.

I agree with Xthanthus what did happen to those characters. When I was a lot younger I remember a Gorilla jumping on the train by us.

I remember that gorilla hiding out in Rolling Thunder's exit queue by the train bridge scaring the bejezus out of people walking down the path when not hassling the passing train :)
