Not good. Another death in the amusement park industry.

Very sad news indeed.

Do I see a pattern of deaths on rollercoasters forming here? It seems pretty simple....if you have a heart condition, don't ride an intense ride, or jump on an intense rollercoaster like Goliath. If you do, then I am sorry, you take your chance.
If it walks like socialist, quacks like socialist, smells like a socialist, .... it's a socialist. Hope, and change we can believe in.

Not good... Every time someone dies on a ride from a heart attack, I immediately think of someone I know that rides coasters and has a very small condition and I'm worried for that person.

And not to mention, its a brand new ride. Ouch for Six Flags Over Georga.

It's so sad to hear about someone dieing on a roller coaster (well, hearing someone die anywhere is sad but). I mean, you dont expect to go to an amusment park and never come home. You're suppost to feel safe and happyness when you go to an amusment park. Not the fact that it could be a potential death.
It's green. It's blue. It's all over you! Enjoy your ride on Déjà Vu

thats pretty bad. i just wish people would follow rules at
parks. it reminds me that they had to add no gum chewing
or candy on the ride rules list. and not to long ago when i went
i saw that an op made a girl spit out gum on a peice of paper.
people need to take roller coasters more serious.

I totally agree. If you think (or know) you have health problems, you should read the signs and take them seriously.

How are you supposted to know you have a heart condition? The problem with the bigger, taller coasters is the fact that they really get the adrenaline pumping through the body like no other, and people aren't going to go to the doctor everytime they visit a theme park, so what are we going to do about it? Station a cardiologist at every ride entrance?

Unless if you do go to the doctor you don't find about these conditions until you die.

^Why would they tear it down? There wasn't a malfunction with the ride. The man that passed away had a heart attack due his heart condition (not sure if he knew about it).

Common sense. If they would tear down a ride because one person had a heart condition and died while riding the ride because of this condition, then Raging Bull would be gone, so would many others... If too many people die on the same ride because it's the ride's fault, then yes, they would either fix the problem or tear it down. But someone having a heart condition and going on a ride (whether they know about it or not) doesn't mean there's something wrong with the ride.

Yeah. I heard that a man died on Deja Vu from brian damage (I guess from being thrown around back and forth so much) and that a woman died of a heart attack on the giant drop. its really sad that all these rides that we like so much are really very dangerous sometimes. and also they make you sign a contract before you can go on the daredevil jump thing. The contract states that if you die on the jump, Six Flags Great America is not responsible for your death and they can't be sued for it.
Does anybody honestly know when you're right side up or upside down on Batman?!!

^ Corrections:

Girl got brain damage on Shockwave (which was replaced by Superman: Ultimate Flight, just in case you didnt know :D )

Girl had a heart attack on Raging Bull. Chocked on gum and had a heart condition she didnt know about. Therefor, resulting in a heart attack.

Nothing happened on Déjà Vu or Giant Drop (well, Déjà Vu got stuck on the 1st tower for 3 hours it's first year but nothing that results in injurys or deaths).

Six Flags Great America has an amazing safety record (if Im not mistaken, I read somewhere, don't rmemeber though, that Six Flags Great Aemrica is #3 in the world for world's safest parks).

Just a correction. Welcome to SFGAMWorld :D

Actually I believe something did happen with Vu, like some guy broke his legs or something from stretching them out while riding in the A seats. Did this really happen or did I just hear a rumor from some random person at the park? I really don't remember.

If I am not mistaken a little girl with a heart condition died after riding spacleys sporcket rockets in the camp cartoon network area. It just goes to show you that it IS the riders responsibility to follow ride restictions. Although it is sad, if riders are irresponsible deaths will occur.

Correction. Nothing had ever happened on DejaVu. Never happened. All the deaths that have occured is becuase of the guests fault. the number 1 is heart condition. if someone told you that someone died on DejaVu, then just laugh at them
Six Flags Ameirca as the number 1 park at SFI.... this is JOKE!

I didn't say he died, I only said I heard that a guy broke his legs or something of that nature. I just need to know if I heard this from a reliable source or not.
