Although I far prefer Intamin and B&M, i have to say that Vekoma is more unreliable because alot of their rides are more innovative... not that that should matter... I feel that, even if you are innovative, if you can't deliver a good product, you shouldn't be in the buisness.
SFGAmfreak4life wrote:They are bankrupt and I think they are almost out of it too. Thats not the reason for their why their rides are of poor quality.
They are not bankrupt. They are (or were) under bankruptcy protection. Basically the courts have protected them from their creditors. They have to restructure and show the courts that they are making strides to move their business into a profitable manner. From their website, they seem to be still producing coasters, although a majority of them seem to be overseas.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
How is Vekoma any more low-quality than Intamin? I've been on 3 Vekoma coasters. Only one had problems for what I could see, Deja Vu. The other 2 I've been on worked fine (Serial Thriller and Mind Eraser both at SFWoA. X-Flight had broken down, so it has problems, but I didn't ride it.) Intamin is just as problematic in my experiences. V2 was very unreliable to begin with, and TTD had many problems. Even Wicked Twister broke down just as I got in line once. The only totally reliable (for what I've seen) Intamins I've been on is Force and SUE. Thats the same as Vekoma, at least for me, 2 have been reliable. And for my experiences with poor quality ride experiences, I have yet to encounter it on any Vekoma or Intamin. I don't know why people think Vekoma rides suck. 3 out or 3 Vekoma rides, I loved them all. 4 out of 4 Intamin rides, I loved them all.Why can't people stop picking on the pot-head rides? (FYI, pot is legal in Holand/The Netherlands/Home of the Dutch, so I call Vekoma rides pot-head rides.)
I think that TTD is less reliable than DV. When I was there it broke down a countless number of times. Once they work all the bugs out of it it will run fine. Yes Vekoma rides are good. I have nothing against them. All Vekoma needs to do is stop rushing their projects and then their new coasters wont have all the problems that they have now. I think Intamin also rushed their TTD project too. If they spent at least a year longer working on it then it wouldnt be as messed up as it is.
Deja Vu opened end of 2001 and ran horribly for 2002 and didn't open until now for the 2003 season. TTD is brand new technology on its first year of operations and has been running great for a while now.

Hah great. It breaks down about every 5 minutes. The one time it was down from 7:00 p.m. to closing. Another time it was down from opening to 4:00 p.m. Sometimes it breaks down every other train and this keeps going on gor half an hour at the least. The ride has serious problems.
Deja Vu was reliable last season. With the exception of two worst-case valleys, it was fine. The first time it vallied, it was a freak accident, not even the ride's fault. I don't know about the second, though. This year, for how things happend, I would guess a flaw that seriously threatened saftey was found. Therefore, the other 2 were fixed first, to make sure the fix did fix it. Six Flags, making sure they didn't make the same mistake twice (doing something that might not work 3 times.) waited to do it to SFGAm's until the other two were running consistantly.I highly doubt Dragster has more operational status on it than Deja Vu... Considering Dragster operated for a few weeks, then very very intermidently, then not at all until mid last month. Deja Vu opened just a couple weeks after Dragster was apparently fixed. Add most of last season (far more than half of it) and Deja Vu has easily passed Dragster in terms of operational days.
Well All I know is that Deja Vu was closed 3 out of the 5 times I went last summer. I went about once a month. Deja Vu has been operating sice October 2001 and has had the 2 other rides open couple of months before it. It had sometime to fix the some bugs and understand the technology a little better. Not to mention 2 offseasons to figure things out. If Deja Vu was so reliable why have people on these boards never been ot it? I have only been on it 3 times. I have been to the park closed to 20 times when the ride has been closed for whatever reason. TTD is brand new technology, that hasn't had a offseason yet. Just look back last year and the year before to see how many reliable prototypes were made. Not many.

Deja Vu was new technology too. Last year was the year, that Deja had to fix bugs(consdiering it was only open for Fright Fest in 2001) and it did run fine last year except for the 2 things that Travis stated. This year I don't know exactly what the reason was that the trainw as not on the track for half the season, but I do know that it was the same at SFOG(I saw it myself) and I belive at SFMM also. Deja should run fine as of now, for at least the rest of the season, maybe forever .
Deja Vu at SFMM opened 8/25/01 and our opened 10/7/01. They had about a month to give it a try and figure some stuff out. I realize Deja Vu is was new technology but It had others before it. Deja Vu also evolved a little bit through the boomerangs too. Those are pretty old too. TTD really didn't have anything except maybe xcellerator but these two a very differrent.

in my opinion, TTD is more reliable than DV. DV opened late - TTD had it's problems, but it's good now. Give it another season though and see if it is down for half the year.
Huh? Why did it have to wait until March? Because some of the parts were bad so the had to wait for MM and OG to get the new good parts then we got them.

Heres what i heard since more people go to those parks we gave them some of our pieces. And a friend of mine he works there he said that the trian need to be able to catch the towers better because he said sometimes it would miss and that woukld make it vally . And if u ask me i thinkm deja vu is better than ttd dont get me wrong i would go on ttd but it dose nothing really specail just gose 420 feets and twist down. come on it could do more than that like maybe some kinda loop or at lest go threw some helix.

I don't know exactly why, but here are some pics that I found to prove my point. Scroll down to the bottom to see the constructuion from the start, the 1st support appeared to be in place March 10th.http://sfga_il.tripod.com/ConstructionDejaVu2.htm
I was being sarcastic SFGaMownz. I agree Dragster is short and should have some more stuff in it. I thought the same thing before I rode it. I don't care what you guys think of any ride. And I wouldn't be saying a ride is better than another when you haven't been on one of them.
