No More Rerides

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

This is precisely the correct answer.

I've spoken with guest relations and it seems this is a grey area in which the ulimate decesion is up the ride ops. What happened in your case, Ilovthevu', is that the supervisor was on the platform. Sups hate reriders because they don't contribute to the ride counts for the day, (you ride the roller coaster as many times as you want, while you only go through the turnstile once), which lowers the count because you probably would have circled around, to ride it again, and up the count on the turnstile. Plus reriding encourages others around you to do the same and creates chaos on the exit platform of people fighting to find empty rows.

If there is no supervisor in the station, ride ops will usually let you find empty seats and reride, *IF* you do it quickly and without the inconvience to others around you. Such as in many cases, the people waiting to get on the train will put their stuff away in the compartments or bins, and people from the last train will unknowingly steal their seats, thinking they found an empty row to reride on. When the other people return from dropping their stuff off and find the reriders in their seats, they get angry and the ride ops get angry. The ride ops now have to figure what happened, yell at the reriders, unlock the reriders, apologize to the people who waited in line, and make sure the reriders exit. Plus now the whole train has to wait on this ordeal, and it hurts the capacity of the ride.

You can reride, you just have to be careful and do it the right way.

yeah, last night on vu, we were on second to last train, and when it got to the last train, we couldn't reride. they told us personally that we had to get up and leave. All the rows from 4B back were empty.

Just now getting around to reading this topic again.

Yes, Eaglefan, I did infact get 13 rides in a row on Batman the last time I visited. I showed up at the park after I dropped my daughter off around 7 pm.

As Galvan316 stated, I wouldn't lie about this because I didn't state this just to say that I rode it that many times. I could care less how many times I stay on a ride without getting off. I actually asked the rideop who was working the back of the train how many times I rode and he told me 13.

I made the point to say that the park allows re-rides. I didn't state it as a bragging right like you have done with your GD re-rides.

Don't expect ACE or the park to plaster another useless plaque on Giant Drop to advertise your so called achievement.

^^^Any chance you remember what that ride op looked like, that counted your rides? I'm going to the park Fri and Sat, and I kind of know a couple of the ride ops, so I could talk to them and validate your 13 rerides. Not that I really care or anything, I just enjoy idle conversation with the ride ops.

/\ Nothing to you, but do we really have to get down to thise that we have to validate him re-riding BTR 13 times. It's not hard to do at all, nor is it anything special. All it really is, is just riding a ride 13 times, but without having to get off. It is really no different than riding it 13 times and walking around. So, it doesn't really matter how many re-rides someone gets. Sometimes people ride them an insane amount of time, like the 50 something consecutive Mike did on GD or the 30 consecutive and 25 consecutive on SUF last year I did on the same day. All I am trying to say is that people re-ride and when they do, it isn't anything special worth a medallion or plaque.

Now, if you want to impress someone with a re-ride, go get one on Millenium Force, then I will be impressed.

for MF reride does it count if you get off the train, go though the gate, get back to the station and get right back on the seat you just got off of, same train without missing a cycle? (actually 9 times out of 10 you have to wait for the train you just got off of to arrive in the load station)

Wow FParker that is actually a very good question. You left the station, but you still got on the same train.

Its a dual station though, so that also matters.

Nahh, you aren't making a big deal out of it. It's only stated in your signature but who's reading anyway.

Is it that big of a deal to you that I rode Batman 13 times?

Anytime you want to end this, just say the word.

I just thought the station was too packed that day for you to get so many re-rides. I know because I of course was trying to get them. I dunno maybe you were just on the other train everytime it really doesnt matter.

That's kind of why I said, "I really don't care.."

I'm more just trying to find out what ride op was spoken to because I'm good friends with some of them.

Anyways, I found out the season record at Batman is currently 45 rerides. They didn't know what the all time record was. Just in case anyone was wondering.

FParker I'd have to say that it's a reride.

I did it on Hades 5 times last year when the park was completely empty. It was so tiring though, I think I lost 5 pounds just going up and down those stairs every 5 minutes...

That really stunk on Dominator at Geauga Lake. Everytime I had to run through the line to make the next train because they wouldn't let me on. If it was 90 degree weather, they would probably just let me on reriding. Is he alright, he's turning red? Should we let him on? I wonder why, because they wouldn't let me reride at Gaugea Lake. The park was completely empty that day!!!! I would always try to get the next train, and I always did. That line is pretty big. It's no cake in the walk to go around the whole line.

Well that's GL's park policy. I remember running through that thing so much when I was there. Walking through that line 16 times in one day and other lines too, can get pretty tiring.
