Idea for september

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby v2guy13 on July 15th, 2006, 2:03 pm
You know how gam will be open until mid september and FF will open like the last week of september? Well, theres no way in hell (hahaha, hell, FF, yea) that they can setup everything in two weeks. Well, i asume that like last year, ther will be some stuff setup during the regular season. So, why not give us a taste of what it'll be like? Maybe after like 5 or 6, some of the characters come out and some of the effects turn on and more lights go out to give us a sample early and give the parents a heads up to wether or not take their kids. 'cause if its really freaky then, think about actual FF. Do you guys think thats a good idea for the stand point of everyone and a heads for parents or just a cool fantasy?

I say Fright Fest shouldnt change at all, oits not that scary or great to begin with. The scenerys the best thing about it. Area 51 was a neat new idea....my point is, FF should not lower its self for familys.

Universal Studios is a great family park and they go "movie style" creepy with their crew giving them stalkers, have them jumpin out, and have great costume wear, etc etc.....people love it. Its fun scary, not too freaky but fun too.

Sixflags doesnt need to lower its self anymore....

Family Fright Fest, do you know how stupid that name sounds. I heard it on Sky Trek Tower I think it was, it just sounds so stupid. I hate it, Six Flags Fright Fest is the best in the world, Six Flags Family Fright Fest sounds like it's gone to the dogs or something like that. I bet/know that's not going to be as fun as it was last year.

Pfft Family Fright fest screw that.

you know, rather then CHANGE It to please familys they need to do both, please familys and adults/teens

i HOPE they dont change the haunted houses because those CLEARLY Stated they were not for young children and if they think changing fright fest to bring in more familys will help, i beg to differ. they may pick up familys but loose THOUSANDS Of teens who will not bother to go be scared by a Casper the friendly ghost lol

Supposedly, don't take it 100% for sure, they are doing exactly what they did last year. Family Fright Fest until a certain time, then make it scary Fright Fest in most areas, not all.

Actually there are going to be more creatures roaming the streets then ever before this year. the only thing is that there will ALSO be lots of things for families to do too.

This is straight off of the JPM Website. http://www.jpmproductions.com this may go to show you that Fright Fest isng going to change a whole lot.

NEW (in development) for 2006:

Additional Werewolves in their own area
Southwest Scaritory Characters (return) High profile characters and gunfight show
Additional Vampires
Scooby Doo Mystery Train
Festival de la Muertos Parade
Wizard U in Not so scary area
And MORE...

They also are still having Necropolis, the Mausoleum Of Terror, Southwest Scaritory, Apparently they are changing Sleepy Hollow to a fun house.

In county fair there will be werewolves, gypsies, and scarecrows.

Vampires In Orleans.

Yankee Harbor will once again be Haunted Harbor with Pirates.

Trolls will of course return.

Mardi Gras will play home to the clowns again this year.

Scooby Doo Mystery Train will return (although I wish it was the old train ride)

Hometown Square will indeed be Area 51 again this year with Army Commandos and Aliens.

It doesnt say much about family things yet, but we'll have to wait and see. I did notice a NEW gun fight for Southwest Scaritory.

I wonder if the Area 51 Section will be back this year, it was an excellent Fright Fest addition.

I wouldnt mind if it was family FF untill like 7:00 because I usually dont go to necropolis or the Haunted Houses untill it gets dark.

i like fright fest last year, and it should stay the same. I remember last year, they did put some of the fright fest stuff out early. At that time, i finally realized how big "tiny" was.....lol

Wasn't County Fair a "safe zone" last year? I saw a gravedigger near IW onetime but that was it. Mmm more scaractors this is going to be sweet.

.

^Actualy the fun house is going to be a haunted house with the same clown feel as sleepy hollow but in a better way.

And also, guys, i wasnt talking about changing it to family FF, just have some things out early so parents can decide wether or not to take their kids to FF, sorry if that was to complicated.

^ Just saying my own opinion, I think it's a dumb idea to have stuff "out early". Parents should already have some sort of idea as to take their kids or not. If they don't then so be it, they'll soon enough find out for themselves. Even if you think about it Fright Fest has always kind of revolved around families. They have kid areas, and places for teens like haunted houses and such. Nothings really gonna change, so you really don't have anything to worry about.

i wish it were more scary. i just dont like how its 'family friendly'. or maybe they should have certain dates at the beg. of the month not so scary, and as the dates get closer to halloween, they should add on to scaryness. i dont know how that would work though.

i hope the trolls are on the bridge again by batman and Ragin' Cajun, they were the best there.

They just can't cater to one demographic of guests. They should just leave it as is. I thought FF last year was pretty damn good.
As far as bringing kids. I have always brought my kids to FF. The creatures have never tried to frighten them, and in most cases, some have even given them high fives, and such (my kids just laugh at them most of the time). As far as Nectroplolis (sp?), I never take my kids into that section unless they are completly asleep.
Right now they have sections for everybody to enjoy, so just leave it as is.
If it walks like socialist, quacks like socialist, smells like a socialist, .... it's a socialist. Hope, and change we can believe in.
