I see it as a good idea to retheme Vertical Velocity to the theme of a rocket/launch pad. It is a launch coaster and it's short name, V2, is the name of a rocket used in WWII. Considering there is no theming for this ride, and it is a small area, I see it easy and beneficial to retheme.
I kinda like Bob O's idea, but let's put the lighthouse back!!! SFGAm needs an accelerator coaster, maybe 150-250 feet with maybe 2-3 inversions. We know that won't happen anytime soon, but I want the lighthouse!

i like that idea too like the enclosed area could be pitch black painted and there could be 2 light sinside of the station one for when u set them up in the cars so they can see an after there settled in the lights could go pitch black and as tehy come back thru the station there could be a motioned sensored strob elight that would fill upt eh whole station and that would cause a really weird but scary effect.
So the enclosure of the station and the straightaway plus some strobelights would be a nice touch and help add to that electrical feel and fun. Plus they could advertise the retheming and we could survive a few more years without a new ride. However we won't see this happening.

light would get in there somehow...I like it just the way it is. Isnt vertical velocity got a theme twords heart racing and simular to whats in its name like top thrill dragster...it comes from top FUEL dragster?
isnt V2s terminal velocity but u go "verical" so they used that? lOOk...
Terminal velocity. (a) The velocity acquired at the end of a body's motion. (b) The limit toward which the velocity of a body approaches, as of a body falling through the air.
terminal velocity
n : the constant maximum velocity reached by a body falling through the atmosphere under the attraction of gravity
...and u go vertically up and fall down....whatever....
I like V2 not enclosed. An accelerator would be great but im not settling for anything less than 400ft...haha...im serious but itll never happen cause sadly, it supposedly cannot.
V2's current "theme" is a futuristic hi-tech theme. And building a 180' building would be expensive.
Everyone Poo Poo's V2, but I'm sure a lot of you would be dissapointed if it was removed. Even if you don't ride it, it makes the lines shorter around the park.
My cuzin works at six flags gam. Ill try to talk him into to giving the letter im writing to gam. to put strobes on eatch end of v2. Let's hope it will work, we all know if it will or not.

I agree that i wouldnt be happy it was removed, unless it was replaced by something else. Im also unhappy that Triple Play was removed and not replaced by anything else either.
A park doesnt need to have a dozen coasters into it to be excellant park. A park needs a good mix of rides/shows/coasters etc and i would perfer quality of rides over quantity,
A great example of this is Busch Gardens in VA which offers a great expereince without a dozen coasters.
I like v2, but seeing as very few of the rides at SFGAm have theming to begin with, i don't see a rush to theme it. Tunnels are all good and fine, but i think lightning would be the best. They should put a giant tesla coil on top of the station between the towers.
And to think..i'm only being half sarcastic with a remark like that, a giant tesla coil would be pretty awesome.
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.
I would be able to do without this ride personally, since i think it is boring, but i like that this ride makes some of the other rides around that park have shorter lines.
We will see if the removal of Triple play is permanent or not. But we do know that it was removed this year with nothing to take its place.
So a year when parking/admission prices are increased the ride portion of the park is reduced. Any removal of a ride with no replacement(even if temporary) is bad news!!
The ride portion of the park was not reduced. We received Tornado, which means the ride count stayed the same. And since it's pay one price for the park and waterpark, I count rides from both the park and waterpark for total ride count.

I dont count water rides at all when i consider the amount of rides in the park.
Now if they want to open the water park year round with the same hours as the main park, then I would count in, but since that isnt done i count this as a net loss rfor the park.
