Chiller Closed Indefinetly after accident on Robin Side.

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby zjohn1988 on June 7th, 2006, 11:52 am
(officially released by park officials)
At approximately 12:15 p.m., a train on one of our coasters stopped during its cycle. The train was 8-10 feet above the ground with 20 passengers on board. Maintenance and safety personnel immediately responded. Within 15 min. all guests were unloaded from the ride.

Our maintenance and engineering teams will conduct a thorough investigation to determine exactly what caused the coaster to stop. All safety systems functioned properly.

Has this ever happened before - No

The train sustained some damage, but our engineers are out there as we speak conducting an investigation to determine exactly what caused the coaster to stop.

The ride will remain shut down, we've notified the state and will keep the ride closed until they have inspected the ride and cleared it to open.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

Wow. Another incident on one of GADV's best coasters. This sucks, and that park is collapsing.

supposedly the fin on that car slammed into a LIM which was enough force to derail that car. (not sure if it was the LIM or the fin/car at fault)

Something happened on Mr. Feeze at SFStL and they closed all Premier Launch Coasters in the US, but I think they reopened them all now.

Earlier this week, they fixed it within a day, it was launched and ripped some cables that attach to the LIMs, they temporarily closed all the Priemer Launch Coaster of Six Flags*** (not the US) till they were all inspected for that problem, but they should all have been reopened.

The Chiller is still closed as far as I know. I don't think it has anything to do with Mr. Freeze, but rather a accident of it's own as stated above.

(I did read that rumor about SFOT's Freeze causing the rest to be shut down, but I think this was unrelated).

It is unrelated with this incident, but it is another reason, different from this, why it is closed.

Well thats not true, it was open on opening day at SFStL.

The Chiller has always seemed to have problems, along with most of the other Premier launchers.

I have heard someone at SFStL (Mr. Freeze) say that it might open in 2 weeks. :D
