I don't think whizzer will go becuase its one of the few family rides left at all amusment parks, so that gives greatamerica an advatage. Last year i saw American Eagle going for a new territory, but after the Helix reconstruction that may change. Now i see two of my favorites are next: Demon and Iron Wof. but Iron Wolf always has a line so that will stay longer. Does anyone else agree with me?
Iron Wolf is a great ride, a little rough but good noting some new wheels won't fix, I definently think Whizzer should go, then demon and thats it for now. But Iron wolf will most likey go after but not for a while because the line is always long.

It was all a publicity stunt. There is no way they could have fit S:UF in that small of a spot. They knew all along that Shockwave was coming out. Do you remember the park said that they were taking out Whizzer and they would try to take down the smallest amount of trees as possible. Well that couldnt have happened. They would have had to take down almost all the trees if S:UF was able to fit in that spot and thats where it was going to be placed.
How could it be a publicity stunt, I, and a lot of other people didn't even know about it until I saw someones trip report, and they took a pictures of take the last ride on whizzer sign. So I highly dout it was a publicity stunt.
All of the peoples attention was on Whizzer because they thought it was coming out. While the attention was focused on Whizzer the park was doing their work on ShockWave. Also if you noticed while that sign was up there was a revamped train sitting on the transfer track. Like I said before they had no intenion of taking out the Whizzer.
I dout it was a publicity stunt. I mean come on how can you possibly say that S:UF couldn't fit in that area. That area was plenty big enough for S:UF to fit. Of course bsome trees would've een lost, but not enough for it to lose, what the trees would bring to the ride. Show me some proof that was a publicity stunt, until I see it only the facts count, and the fact is Whizzer was going going gone.

thanks.....i can see how it was a publicity stunt.....it makes perfect sense to me.... http://www.weezil.com/sfgam/sfgam14.htmnow look at this picture.....thats the amount of space it took to put superman there......you might as well start saying "hey! they should tear down Whizzer and put Shockwave there!!!!"http://www.coastergallery.com/1999/SFGA28.htmlnow look here.....there's Whizzers' space....compare the two and tell me they could have fit Superman there...

what about the line.........the couldn't have put Superman there without expansion!!!! the line would have never fit, pluse there's water down there, and a whole bunch of trees they'd have to tear down!

Heres how they do it. The water doesn't even matter I don't kno wwhy you mentioned that. They could've gotten creative with queue easily. Even if somehow they couldn't fit S:UF into Whizzers footprint there was still lots of room behind it before the tracks where the train crosses. Look back there next time you visit and notice all that room, that there is.
actually i think the water does matter because in case you didnt know it......its everywhere in the ride area!!! and like i said....you need to think about how hard it is to expand within the park area, rather than out in the parking lot....if it was needed

Water is a non-issue for rides. Mantis is built almost entirely over water, and part of the queue is over water. How did they do it? Easy, just make a floating queue. Problem solved. Who cares if it was a publicity stunt or not, anyways? It's done and over with, it's not going to change. Get on with your life and don't worry about it. Enjoy what you have, Superman and Whizzer. If Shockwave was still around, and we lost Whizzer, everyone would be complaining we should get Whizzer back. So instead of complaining, enjoy what we have.
Ive seen them disappearing little by little. If the ride is relocated ( which I really hope it is) then I hope its close. Considering that both of the sisters are on both coasts I think it will stay in our area.
Unless SF decides to put Shockwave in another SF park, I dont see Shockwave being re-constructed.I highly doubt anyone would purchase the ride.As Travis has stated, the water in Whizzer's footprint is a non-issue. Alot of rides and coasters are built over water.Hopefully, we wont have to entertain this topic down the road. Lets pray the park gets creative and finds a spot for a future coaster without dismantling another ride.Like I have said in other topics, SF needs to take a trip to Indiana Beach to see how rides and coasters are constructed in tight land-locked spaces.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
i dont see why they would WANT to get rid of whizzer. Its the last of its kind. Actually never mind, the only reason why i would see them getting rid of whizzer is to put it in a roller coaster museum. XD they should have a SF old ride park museum. i just dont understand why i sometimes see whizzers line longer than S:UF's line
When have you seen Whizzers line longer then S:UF ? I never saw it, also Whizzers line can be deciving it may look long but, isn't over a 45 minute wait.
i remember i had to wait an hour for Whizzer.....and is it just me, or is 6 flags more crowded this year then last year??? it seems like everyday i go now its like a weekend!!!
