im hoping for a ocket coaster or a cool prototype, but I heard that SF is going to start working on their less popular parks for a change so a new coaster might not be soon.
face the face of DA RAGING BULLcan ya handle it?NORide it at SFGAm!
Wouldn't a Intamin rocket coaster be very similar to V2? They are both launched and (from what we have seen) don't go upside down. If we did get a rocket coaster, I don't think it would be very tall or very long. I would rather have a quality B&M floorless.
I myself wouldn't mind a B&M Floorless Coaster. It would be nice to have it as an original design. It could have like 9 inversions, with a 200 foot drop. The ride could be called: "Mind Bender." How does that sound?
Ok, this topic is pretty much another, "What ride would you like to see next". But anyways... I think it would be cool to either get a Screaming Squirrel, or NAVY: The Experience. I doubt we'll ever get NAVY but hey, a guy can dream.Screaming SuirrelNAVY: The Experience

People!!! okay...Intamin is the best coaster company right now because.....-they do not clone rides NEARLY as much as B&M does....they have many more original coasters, while B&M just keeps making the same coasters over and over with the same elements and all that....Intamin builds hypers, but all have different layouts, the V2s and WT and them usually have different heights or the twisted tower or whatever to make them different...-Intamin is trying to use the newest and greatest technology on all their coasters....the elevator lift system, giga coasters, rocket coasters, impulse coasters....while B&M has come out with a flyer...its still just an inverted coaster with a different train. And why the heck would you guys not want a rocket coaster??? I realize that most of the people who don't have never been on one...but believe me, once you experience TTD or Xcel...you realize that there is no greater type of coaster....if SFGAm wants to put in the best coaster they can, then they put in a Rocket.....and i do think a coaster will be built either next year or the year after, because GAm has always been on a 2 year cycle.I WANT A ROCKET
Yeah, but B&M's rides are quality. How often has a B&M had a coaster that has been down for a month due to a mechanical difficulties. I'm not saying I prefer B&M over Intamin, just showing that B&M is more about reliable, quality rides rather than state-of-the-art. Besides, you can't tell anyone Intamin is the 'best', that's just your opinion.

I agree once you have been on TTD it will change your mind. We don't need a floorless. Itamin is the wave of the future unless B&M is thinking up a bunch prototypes.
16 Rides on TTD
10 in Front
4 in front at night

It is not the ride company which decides to clone a ride, it is the park. B&M would have been more than happy to design and install 10 other, unique coasters instead of the clones of Batman. Six Flags chose the clones because they have a proven product, and they are cheaper than designing from scratch. Why don't you see cloned Intamin rides as much? Because companies don't clone unreliable rides.

Ok, lets see what you have to say.
-they do not clone rides NEARLY as much as B&M does....they have many more original coasters, while B&M just keeps making the same coasters over and over with the same elements and all that....Intamin builds hypers, but all have different layouts, the V2s and WT and them usually have different heights or the twisted tower or whatever to make them different...
Intamin will clone as much as B&M does. It depends on what the park wants. A park won't ask for an inverted, and B&M give them a B:TR just because they want to. They give them a B:TR if the park wants a B:TR and only then. Just so you know, 2 out of 3 S:ROSes are mirror clones. Also, V2, SUE, Steel Venom, and Condor are all identical impulses.WT, Linear Gale, and V2.5 are the only unique ones. Gale was a prototype, so its just straight spikes, no brakes. WT is a record breaker that CP wanted, and V2.5 is a modified impulse to keep the city happy. For the most part, impulses aren't different in any way.
-Intamin is trying to use the newest and greatest technology on all their coasters....the elevator lift system, giga coasters, rocket coasters, impulse coasters....while B&M has come out with a flyer...its still just an inverted coaster with a different train.
Elevator lifts aren't new. Way back in the 1980s, Fuji-Q Highlands opened a coaster with an elevator lift. Impulse coasters have no innovation other than they pass the train through LIMs forwards and backwards, which is just a variation on Premiere shuttles, that boost the train at the end of the course. So, as you compare the inverted to flying, I could compare the impulse to Premiere shuttles. Just a different train and computer program. Rocket coasters in general aren't that off the wall, other launches have existed before. Weight drop, flywheel, DC motor, LIM, LSM, pneumatic. The only thing different this time is, like pneumatic, it provides much more acceleration than the others.
I WANT A ROCKET
Me too, but I want it along side a S&S like Dodonpa. 0-107 in 1.8 is much more impressive than 0-120 in 4. That way, you have the best of both worlds.
Good show T_Biggs. One of the times I talked to Jim Wintrode I asked him what he would want in the park (I asked since he told me he didnt want an X) and he told me he wanted something from S-S. He of course wasnt going to tell me exactly what type of ride but Im at least happy he said S-S.
S&S-Arrow? Already have Demon... But X is S&S-Arrow now. So is a TA2K. None have been built since Dodonpa, though. It would be sweet to have TA2K that goes faster than 120. I'd imagine it's acceleration would be much better than TTD's, too. Like I said earlier, Dondonpa already has a more impressive acceleration than TTD, I doubt 15 or 20 mph more would increase its launch time that much, defenitally no where near 4 seconds. But, maybe we'd get lucky, and be the first park with a Screaming Squirrel. I bet it could fit where Power Dive was. That would be one sweet ride. As of now, the steepest drop on a coaster is 95 degrees. If we got a SS, it would blow that away... A nearly 180 degree drop would rock.
After just returning from visiting PKI, SFKK, and HW, I am convinced that we need some variety of other sorts.Flight of Fear at PKI is awesome. A totally enclosed coaster that launches into the elements is something that would be great at SFGAm.Also, we need more flat rides. Even SFKK which is a smaller park has alot more flats. It amazed me how many rides they packed into this park.An interactive dark ride would also be great for SFGAm. My daughter and I rode the new "Scooby Doo and the Haunted House" at PKI and that was a fun experience. Heck, Six Flags also has these Scooby rides at a couple of their parks. Adding one to SFGAm would be a great addition. We cant just keep adding coasters. Other options for additions are available that we are being neglected on.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
This is a very good point, Chitown. You have a daughter, so you see how lacking in that section SFGAm is and you're not just thinking in your coaster enthusiast mind hoping for a coaster, but rather more family oriented attractions.

I went on that at PC. That is a pretty cool ride. That would be a great thing for SFGAm.
I have heard that SFGAm is done with B&M's for a while, and that Wintrode is looking at either an S&S power compressed air lauched coaster which i think would be cool expeccially if it was a custom. Or an Intamin Rocket coaster would be cool too but I dont want SFGAm to try to compeat with Cedar Point I think a really cool custom more along the lines of excellerator casue i want it to be fun and not just go for height and Speed but more like speed airtime and turns and legnth and compacity. We gotta get out of our slump of clones V2, Deja Vu, SUF. We need a great crowed pleaser like Raging Bull still being rated as one of the best coasters anywhere. Something that the GP and Entusiasts can both only ride at SFGAm.
When you say it that way... a giga coaster comes to mind. Very crowd pleasing. Draws all kinds of people. It would be the tallest coaster around in your area! You'd have airtime, length and capacity. It would have to be better than MF! At first I thought no on the giga coaster, but the park doesn't have a continuous circuit modern day Intamin. This would go over great.
Again I mention this coaster:NAVY: The ExperienceFrom the same people who are putting a Sky Skater on top of the Stratosphere Tower. Of course Navy probably wouldn't fit at GAm and the company have never built a coaster and who knows if it would actually work and how thrilling it is what-not etc. etc. etc.....But it looks awesome.
