Brake Bracket Failed on VF's Wild Thing

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby Galvan on May 29th, 2006, 10:09 am
A mounting bracket supporting brakes on the track of Valleyfair's Wild Thing roller coaster malfunctioned Sunday, damaging two cars, including one that separated from the train, park officials said Thursday as an investigation continued.
The incident sent 15 people to local area hospitals.

Its a part for a ride, chances are they can just order another one and install it within a few days, and then get everything running again.

The park may have additional cars in storage at the park.

Compared to Kingda Ka, Morgan is an American company. Aren't they in Kansas? So, it should take lesser time to fix.

Apparently you don't understand sarcasm. Obviously they will need to be repaired and recertified by the state of Minnesota.

And I believe Morgan is located in California.

Like someone said, the park probably has additional trains. They'll order a new brake bracket, put on the new cars or train, test it for a day, and open. (The long way to say what was already said numerous times)

Wild Thing has 3 Trains, only one was damaged.

And I think Morgan is based in Kansas now after they merged with Chance Rides.

Which in this case nobody died, so an investigation shouldnt be more than a few weeks. Maint. could easily get cars in storage on the track once the ride reopens, doing their minimum amount of cycles in under two days. They most likely ordered another bracket already, that isnt hard to install (under 1 day). Then theyll get it recertified by the state. Seems like a lot of things, but i have no doubt that this coaster wont be closed for more than three weeks max.

If I am not Mistaken MN does not Regulate Amusement Rides at all. They do not need any certification from the State. The State of MN or any other Government Agency is not doing an investigation. CF hired a company to do an investigation.
