People seem to forget Aramis Rameirez over at 3rd base, Todd Walker and everyday player (who can play First and John Mabary whose a very decent left handed hitter)
Michael Barrertt has been as good as any hitter in MLB and Ronny Cedeno also swinging a hot bat.
Oh and lets not forget that 2/3rds of the pitching staff will be back very soon (Kerry wood could be back as early as May 15th)
Sure losing Derrick Lee wont be a picnic, but i seriously doubt the Cubs season is over.
I agree, this is going to be a thorn in our side, but the season is far from over. Cubs have a good bench, and who knows, maybe someone will really stand up and take Lee's place.
Anyone see the fight on the cubs sox game? I dont remember who was up but a runner was going to home and had to shove away the cathcher cause he was in way. The runner slaps the plate and gets up. THen the catcher says something and punches him in the face. 2 seconds later there's a brawl and its not over for like 15 min later.
But the Sox ended up winning that fight, Podsednik takes down Barret, Anderson belts some Cubs player, I dont know his name cause the Cubs arent good, in the head and takes him out, there were other Sox players that threw punches that you couldnt see. It was total domination by the Sox there.

Cubs SWEEP the Cardinals for the second time this year. I know the season's over, but it's still awesome to see that. I'll say it first. I'm calling a nice 60 game winning streak to finish the regular season.
And Dan, how are the Sox doing? Oh yea, they completely pissed away their wildcard lead AND a deal that could've gotten them Soriano.
GO CUBS!
EDIT: I know the topic is old, but who cares, it's still baseball season.

Screw Soriano, the Sox are fine. Hmm...Sox lost plenty of games after the break, and what are we? A half game back. Wow, that doesn't bother me cause I know we were in a huge slump and hopefully got out of it. But I know this too, if we continue on this slump for any longer, Sox are not going anywhere.

How bought them Brewers? Actually hovering near that elusive .500 mark this year and only 5 games out of the wildcard, now if Turnbow would remember how to close again we might stop blowing games in the 9th.

Huge pick up for the Cubs, but i really dont think they are done yet either. Looks like the Tribune is ready to have a winner in the Cubs prior to them selling the team.
