Intamin Rocket or Hyper is a must

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby DemonRules on July 22nd, 2003, 4:00 pm
When Great America builds their next coaster sometime next year, it had bettter be built by Intamin. I mean, there is no coaster designer that is more at the top of their game right now than Intamin AG. They have the two best coasters in the world, and are simply the best at what they do. I mean, what could be better than an Xcelerator at SFGAm??? And by then, they'd have perfected the hydraulic launch system, so it wouldn't be so prone to break downs as TTD and Xcel.....It would be the best addition to the park....any thoughts?

When you said the 2 best coasters in the world I thought you were talking about S:RoS and TTD, definitely not Xcel (although I haven't been on it).

well, i was speaking of TTD and MF.....i was just using Xcel as an example of a smaller TTD that might be able to fit into the budget at GAm.

I dont understand where you're getting "WHEN Great America builds their next coaster sometime next year..." I doubt they will and even though its been said, they have an amazing hyper already.I suppose a rocket coaster would be nice. I, in fact, also had the rocket coaster in my mind to. It would go nicely either 1) where picninc grove and the Wilderness Theater are, 2) To the right of Superman, or 3) in the parking lot near AE and RB. I've never seen that full. I only see groups gather there near their bus.

B&M is more at the top of their game than Intamin is.

SFGAm doesnt need another TTD, but another(different) rocket coaster would be awesome.
Eh, what's up?

In 2001 we got two rides that take less than a minute to complete it's course. Superman is just a little over 1 minute and a half (ride time). I hope we get something that's not short. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure those rocket coasters are awesome, but I want something that has some length to it.

You might want the Giga for the drop... but MF is overrated. I've seen so many good hypers... don't bother with the Giga. Unless... you get a Giga with some great airtime.

If it wont have any air time then forget about it. I want a coaster at out park that has more air time and is taller than Viper. RB doesnt cut it.

Yeah, I would like to see a ride with a longer duration maybe in 2005. I'm thinking it would be cool to have a custom floorless that has some nice airtime. Maybe a floorless that's even higher than Raging Bull? It would be kind of fun to be able to look down on Raging Bull from something other than Sky Trek Tower... ;)

i would have to agree.. i like B&M coasters better. i just like how smooth they are and the design better. plus.. i never really see any problems with B&M coasters.. i have never seen raging bull or superman closed yet. except with that little girl but that wasn't the coaster. and what about batman.. hardly ever closed either.

I like Intamin because they push the limits with their rides. Personally, I think that the Intamins that I have been on are very smooth and they rival B&M in that catagory.
My Top 5: 1)TTD, 2)Millennium Force, 3)Raptor, 4)Deja Vu, 5)Raging Bull

B&M hadnt been consulted by anyone to build anything bigger than a hyper. Once they are they probably will make it. They got consulted by CP to make MF but it was too short of notice so they didnt make it. Then the next company CP consulted was Intamin and they made MF.

Yea but you cannot just blame the parks for that. B&M is also responsible for it as well. Having the biggest, tallest, fastest roller coaster isn't B&M style.

I like B&M's style they try to make the best rides and make new types, but won't make a tallest or fastest unless a park ask them to desghn 1

They would have made MF as long as CP asked them earlier. B&M is really precise when they make their rides.

I agree, I think an Intamin rocket coaster would be awesome for SFGAm. I'd want to get a floorless first, though.

I would rather have a Intamin Rocket than a floorless. I think are rides are beginning to be the same except you can stand-up, sit down, or laydown. Don't get me wrong we have a great selection of rides. We need something that is reliable first of all though. I would rather have a reliable floorless than a unreliable rocket. But I think a Intamin Rocket would be a great addition to the park as long as it was perfected by Intamin.
