Speaking of chains snapping (not the snapping entirley but the whole chain thing), I was on American Eagle yesterday (5/6/06) and when we were half way up the lift, it slowed down to about 2m.p.h (idk the exact speed) but it slowed down a lot. Now, American Eagle is an Intamin. Im sure that the whole problem was basically the the ride is 25 years old, but its kinda weird.

That happens all the time. I got stuck on American Eagle Blue on opening day when the chain stopped. It slowed down before it did that, and it happens a lot on the Demon, Superman, and Viper occasionally.

Yeah, occasionally for whatever reason Eagle will suddenly switch to the power saving slow mode with a train on the lift, one time I was on it and it must have missed the proxy or passed it wrong or whatnot and had to do the entire lift at that speed, takes about 5-10 mins :)

If it stopped for you when that happened to you, the op at enable probably noticed and thought it was abnormal or dangerous or whatnot and hit a lift stop. Though if a sup is nearby they can switch it to fast lift again, but that is rarely the case.

Unless the top fell off of Kingda Ka, then that is false. Kingda Ka is still a rollercoaster, it's just not running.

Last season me and a friend (your sibling Drkstarboard) got stuck on American Eagle Blue for like 15 minutes about 3/4 of the way up the lift. I've seen it happen other times also.

^I know

Aero. I could build a roller coaster in my backyard that is 500ft and Call it the worlds tallest and fastest roller coaster. If a coaster doesn't run for an extended period of time (which is the case with Steel Dragon and now Kingda Ka) then the ride can not officalially be the tallest and fastest in the world.

Going back to Steel Dragon, it doesnt work (which is Kingda Ka's condition right now) so it cant offiacially be the tallest and fastest in the world (not that it is now anyway but at the time it was, it couldnt have those records)
It's green. It's blue. It's all over you! Enjoy your ride on Déjà Vu

There was never an accident on V2. There is no way you can add that to your Intamin ride accidents.

Are Shrawtkopf, and Intamin related?

^ No they are not.

And where did FParker say V2 had any accidents?
He was just stating the fact that it had electrical issues.

No, American Eagle is the only ride designed to slow lift.

And it only does it to prevent the chance of a set up..not because the ride is old.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

Intamin acted as a ride broker for Schwarzkopf in the US, that was the extent of their involvement.

Kingda Ka has reopened today, the cause of the incident was infact a cellphone dropped prior to the launch of the train.
