Yep, good old fashioned Fire Sale.

Though one of the next parks to likely be sold off will be shocking.
Hint: There has been massive capitol investment in the past few years to raise the park value, and Dick Kinzel has been spotted in the park several times since the park was quietly put up for sale alittle over a year ago. That is unless new management has different ideas, which I dont think is the case.

Well, there you are then. Astroworld, the Two Oklahoma City parks, Waterworld Sacramento, Wyandot Lake...What else? SFNO has been causing loads of problems, no one's quite sure what's going on for the rebuilding of that. Plus Marine World, another park which the city owns but six flags runs and manages, two announcements of no more lease renewal in the space of only a few days. They really weren't kidding.

Which park are you talking about??? :? Is it Six Flags America?? They did say (I think that was the one that was worth a lot).

I personally like the idea of selling Wyandot Lake to the Zoo. I think small parks grow better when their not owned by big companies. Look at Dollywood, Silver Dollar City, even Hersheypark. They all are growing and expanding in their own unique ways. Then look at Enchanted Village or Michigan Adventure, not much expanding or unique attractions going on there. I think it will be good for the park. So I like this deal, if it goes through that is.

Six Flags Great Adventure?
I seriously doubt that, but that's the only one I can think of.
Though SFAm, and SFNE also fit that.

Does it really matter who runs or owns the park?

Seriously, does it really matter if Snoopy is running around the park or Bugs Bunny? Theres still the park right?

99.9% of the people on this site probably have never been to any of the closed/sold whatever parks anyway and will not have any impact what so ever.

^It only sucks when they demolish the parks. In that case, it doesn't matter whether i would ever go there or not, there are still those who love it and it's sad for them. However, in this case, like i said earlier, more power to them.

the park for sale has been mentioned. But Six Flags america has been found by Snyders study to have the highest value per acre out of any SF park, it's time may also be limited (really depends on the cash flow at that park.
