My friends dad told us that in the past years they opened the park a few weeks early they open the park to season pass holders. is this true?
i dont think it is
^He might have been refering to private parties, like the B96 one was normally before opening day. However, I'm pretty sure nothing for season pass holders.
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
It's true, they open the park for private buyouts but never for season pass holders.
During the season they DO have an extended hours program 3 times a year called Coasters After Dark. They keep the park open an extra two hours for season pass holders. You must show your season pass to a grouper at the start of the line. As a non pass holder, you can stay in the park (I guess) but you won't be able to ride any rides. Most of the big attractions are open (Coasters, big flats, etc) but they often do close lines a bit early (11:30 on the mid summer nights) so they arn't running rides to 1-2am.
They also had a special lane where they would let season pass holders into the park 5 min early (the farthest right enterance). I thought they stopped doing this, but I could be wrong.
That Coasters after Dark events are really, really packed. I think that many people don't spend the whole day at the park, and come during that event. No flats are open except Giant Drop, and thus all the people are over the coasters. The first time the park did this they actually took a train off of Batman. They soon regreted it as they seen all the people in line for it. They eventually put it back on.
