Six Flags St. Louis Announces Superman Tower of Power

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

I personally don't know of any Six Flags parks that did this other than SFSTL. The only reason SFSTL did it was because they are incredibly dead in the early spring and in the late fall.

With Viagra : The Ride up there by SE, and the new kids area, I doubt they will do it again.

Apologies for the double post, but it appears that Superman will not be rising on opening day. Supposedly they are shooting for mid may when the park goes to weekly operation.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

Looks like this may have changed again. The employee update site states Superman is "online". Don't know if this refers to pictures / web related/ or operational.

Once again another double post to bump this up, and once again there is reason for it.

Last night in from 9pm - 11pm on WAND TV, I saw three ads for Six Flags St. Louis advertising the Justice League, 45th Anniversary, Looney Tunes National Forest, and Superman Tower of Power. There was no Mr. Six at all, and no Venga Boys. Two of them were in the 9-10 hour, with the third airing during Jay Leno.

A few things to note. This is the first time in four years I have seen advertising up here for SFSTL. Strangely enough this affliate serves Decatur, IL and is considered part of the Champaign Urbana market, which is even further from SFSTL than the area I am in.

The Ad says to come ride Superman Tower of Power while showing an S&S powershot (looks like three towers?) with the only riders shown accelerating up one of the towers.

Given how lawsuit happy the Attorney General was when D-Vu failed to open on time, what will they do with an ad that shows a ride that is not open currently, is the wrong ride, and has the wrong motion shown?

LOL. Six Flags is lazy. I really wish they would film THE RIDE they're advertising for instead of some generic SFMM footage or something like that.

Well, Six flags doesnt actually make the commercials or brochures, they use an ad agency which uses what Six Flags gives them, which in fact was footage of Superman Power of Tower, it just happens to be of the installation at Six Flags Over Texas which is a 3 tower multi drop combo.

Also it's a good idea advertising in the 10-11 timeframe as in Central Time that is when the news is shown, and the people most likely to be watching TV on those channels at that time is the heads of Families, a good marketing move.
