Six Flags no re-entry policy

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby Cryptkeeper on April 5th, 2006, 1:49 am
It appears that one of the most annoying ideas ever - the Six Flags no re-entry policy that has been brought up on many occasions...the one that we all thought had disappeared for good, appears NOT to be dead. If you check out the park policies for Six Flags Mexico at http://www.sixflags.com.mx/politicas.html , you will note the second paragraph says:

Reingreso al Parque
Le pedimos que revise si no olvida algún artículo que considere necesario mientras disfruta su estancia, ya que una vez que salga del parque no podrá reingresar al mismo, a menos de que vuelva a adquirir un boleto. Esta medida se ha implementado por su seguridad y la de su familia.

Now, I don't speak Spanish well, so I had a friend of mine give me a rough translation. He said, more or less, it says something like -

--- Please bring in all necessary articles with you when you enter the park as you will only be allowed to re-enter if you buy another ticket. This is for the safety/security of you and your family. --

Please feel free to double check the translation, but I think that it is correct for the most part. Don't you just love their justification for doing this? HA!

So..what does this mean? Is this the beginning of a system-wide rollout of this policy? Is this just a test to see how locals react to this policy? And most important of all, what the heck is Six Flags thinking??

I think it's a good idea and bad idea at the same time.I thinks it's bad because some people go outside the park to eat,If they are going to make that rule at Sfgam they should lower the cost of the food there. Also,i think it's bad because in my friend's family only two persons pay for a ticket then they go out with the handstamp and share it with their family memebers so they can go in without paying, which I think it's a good idea but bad at the same time.

^This is why they should have tickets only good for one time use. Why should other people have to suffer if so many people are doing this crazy idea? It is a bunch of lies what SF is saying. In essence, what is the point of the security people during the middle of the day? They still have to be there to allow more people to come into park, so, it's not eliminating there job.

People could say that SF is now becoming lazy. It is less time they need to spend checking people's items. Also, while increasing the prices, they want you to buy there food. I imagine that people would leave earlier because no one wants to just stay at the park all day. That makes people mad because they have been trapped in the park. If you wanted to go to your hotel, you couldn't until you are done with SFGAm. That would make alot of people mad.

Or, people can beat the system by bringing in cheesburgers from across the street.

Truly, if this ever comes into effect, my idea of dealing with this is to stuff yourself before you get into the park, and then you want have to eat till very late.

Ya that is not very cool getting into the park with out paying but I hope they dont get ride of re-entry because I sometime go to like Burger King or Taco Bell for lunch. But if they do get ride of it they should lower there food a little bit.

I COMPLETELY AGREE!

This is why they need a fingerprint system like Walt Disney World has. The technology is obviously there, it's cheap enough to be rolled out in numerous grocery stores' checkout lines across the Midwest, I really don't see how a company as large as Six Flags can't afford to put one in. You'd completely cut down on the people who let a sibling use their season pass for entry once or twice a year.

Universal even uses the fingerprint system for their lockers! However, it is kind of annoying because in most cases, it takes like two or three tries to get it right. Also, I too find that idea of not buying tickets as an annoying and scummy way of going to Six Flags.

I liked the fingerprint lockers at Universal. You can't forget any numbers and they were free for the first 45 minutes for all rides that wouldn't allow loose items. It was a guest convience.

^Yes it was, i just remember people getting upset that their print kept screwing up. However, i was so impressed with it, i had just as much fun getting a locker as riding some of the rides. :D
