As far as best drop, RB gets the award. With Millennium Force Second and Goliath at SFMM Third.TTD's drop isnt all that incredible. Yes it's 420 ft, but after the launch it seems really tame to your stomach. On a normal coaster it would definately win, but you just dont feel the drop on it.
you can't believe it - you didn't mean it
but they saw you do it and they know your name

I'm sorry, but TTD is the most incredible ride I have ever been on....including the drop. I can't understand how you can say a 400 foot drop is tame?! TTD blows away any other ride I have ever been on, and the drop, especially the spiral, is just incredible.
I have yet to ride TTD, which in fact I'm going to ride this summer. I'm sure it packs quite a punch... I think it looks slightly better than Raging Bull.
It's not that the drop itself is tame, its just that the launch makes it feel like less.I had to do a paper on the concept. It's called sensory relativity. It explains why 60degrees in the fall can be really cold, while 60degrees in the spring can seem really warm.Because the launch is sloped upwards, it causes negative g's. More negative g's than the drop itself. I'm not saying the drop isn't amazing, but compared to the launch, it can feel a bit tame.

It might seem like it has a really short layout, but because of the blocking structure, you sit waiting to launch for about 30sec for the first station, and over a minute for the second.

Yea, people think that there is no anticipation becuase there is no lift hill. In reality, you sit in front of the christmas tree for 45-60 secs before your actually launched.
My Top 5: 1)TTD, 2)Millennium Force, 3)Raptor, 4)Deja Vu, 5)Raging Bull

we built the first inverted coaster,hyper-twister,first seven looper(shockwave),B&M prototype flyer, first giant vertical boomerang.
face the face of DA RAGING BULLcan ya handle it?NORide it at SFGAm!
plus, they wont launch you if your hands are up...so if you want to build anticipation, just keep em raised, although youll look like an idiot while they play 'hands down' part of the message over and over.

i think the next ride that GAm puts in should be an Intamin rocket coaster. I mean, they are simply the best types of coasters ever built. i realize that one the size of TTD would cost way too much, but build one the size of Xcelerator (with an original layout, and taller tower) and we could not only afforrd it, but it would be one of the best rides ever made.

But you know it wont be any kind of rocket coaster.RB is an awesome ride, with a fantastic drop, but the launch of TTD is incredible. TTD all the way.
I don't know how you can even compair these two. They arn't the same type of ride. Raging bull is a ride designed for airtime and high G turns, hence it's a twister. TTD is a thrill maker designed for speed and height. All it has to offer is one element and it lasts 30 seconds. I don't think you can compair the two. Maybe MF and RB or Xcellerator and TTD, but not RB and TTD.

no, i know that...thats exactly why i said they should make it more like Xcelerator and less like TTD....Xcelerator takes up very little space, and would definitely fit in SFGAm....it would still have a sick launch, a big tower, plus elements are added after the drop.....i say rocket coaster all the way
DemonRules wrote:well, Xcelerator is more or less a mix of TTD and V2.....
I don't really see how V2 is mixed in..... The only differences in basic layout between Xcelerator and TTD is that on Xcelerator their are some banked turns after the tophat. But that's about it. There isn't really any mix of a V2 in there....
