They one they call Mountain 3/22-24

Let us know how your day at the park was.

After coming from Disneyland and DCA (Maybe, I'll do a trip report later.), we went to SFMM. It was time to see if the park was that bad as people have claimed it to be. The first ride was not D Vu' because it wasn't open, but rather X, "Experience the banging". This ride is really fun. I wish our park had a 4th dimensional coaster. It just flips you all over the place. The thing I was waiting for was to be scared that you are going to hit the ground (as people have said) but that never really happened. Of course, there was no MAXimum capacity as expected. One train was in full bloom. I did it 5 times in 3 days. The line was around 30 to an hour. The tecno music was in full force.

Another great ride at SFMM was Scream. Of course this is there floorless. Fun times with that cobra roll. Reminds me of another ride. There was one train operation. Yesterday, I did it twice, and the second it did three times. The first day I forgot how many times.

Colossus was really nice woodie. I like so much better than American Eagle. It has so many hills. It does need a paint job, but it does really matter. I call it the butt banging ride. They were only running ONE train on one side (the black one). Can we trade with SFMM?

The standup was Riddler's Revenge. I actually memorized the layout on this, and Scream!, but you could just look at rcdb.com for that. The first few days it was walk-in city for the most part. I stayed on it alot the first two days. It was a little smoother than Mantis, and Chang but it was still great. Now, this is a shock. Are you ready? It was running TWO trains. This and Viper were the only coasters in the park running dos. My new name for it is Posion Ivy's Venus Flytrap. :D It didn't have the much of the Riddler Theme. It had techno music. They had lasers with question marks on the floor. It also had big brain thing in the front of it that the Riddler wears.

Ninja was next on the list of rollercoasters to conquer. It's a swinging suspended coaster. I went on Iron Dragon, and I wasn't impressed at Cedar Point. This was well worth the trip up the mountain. It was in one train also. Thankfully, this was the only time to actually go up a mountain. Their was no line for this ride.

There monorail was not working because it goes through construction of the new flying coaster Tatsu. Of course, this is not open yet. Neither was Revolution. The trains are by Scream!

The other ride is a waste in my opinion. Superman the Escape doesn't do much. Wow, it goes 100 up a tower. This is coming from someone who loves V2, Mr. Freeze, Deja Vu, and Top Thrill Dragster. Down the mountain was GoldRusher. This was the first rollercoaster at the park. It's okay to go on, but it's not like Diaholenga and River King Mine Trains at SFOG and SFStL. Those two were in my opinion better.

Psyclone and Deja Vu were closed.     I didn't see a train on Deja, and Psyclone was being worked on the lift the first day.

Goliath wasn't all that interesting. I had about one time of air on that ride. It's another Raging Bull. It needs another train. It was too packed for uncrowded park. For Viper was somewhat similiar to Shockwave considering it has the same elements, but seemed smaller to fit the space. I wasn't impressed like Shockwave. I think it has TWO trains. Flashback did nothing. Batman the Ride was awesome as always, but they didn't have the BATMAN music. In fact, they didn't have any at all. :? It was also in one train operation. Same awesome ride. It looks so much better than ours.

In Gotham City section (Riddler Revenge is not in this section. :? ), they had the Atom Smasher (Himalaya type), and Grinder gearworks (Hubertz Roundup). They were okay. I did one time each. I would rather call them Bain's Atom Smasher, and Batgirl's Turmoil.

I also tried that ride that SFGAm used to have a long time ago.

It wasn't that bad. They should at least put some sort of tarp in the middle of it though. It looks pretty bad without it. It reminds of a rollercoaster. The Tilt-A-Whirl (Circus Wheel) has left the building. On the thrid day Taz's Twister J/k, Spin Out (Rotor) wasn't open.

My dad asked the worker about the Yo-Yo, and they said that it was missing a part. The Bumper cars went in a circle compared to a rectangle. They were fun. They have a log and a boat ride. I only went on the boat one. They don't squirt (people can't even do it) you on Roaring Rapids, and you have to walk all around the park to get to it. They also have Tidal Wave (Splashwater Falls) which doesn't get that wet. :?

Altogether, I didn't really see the NEW changes I was expecting Shapiro to give. I still show the non-profit  caricature stands along with the wall which still costs money. What did he say that he wanted to make something free? According to my dad, there weren't employees stationed in the bathrooms. If he's going to say these things, why don't I see them. There enough characters, but no where near the 20 to 30 amount. I think I seen Bugs Bunny and Sylvester twice. :? There was no Wonder Woman :( . They had the Flash, Batman, the Green Lantern. I would say the most characters at a time was around 8. I haven't seen Petunia in awhile  .

Right before the park opens, they have these two annoying people talking that must bug the workers who have to hear it everyday. "There are so many stars around hear, and thus you should get an autograph." "We sell cameras, and autograph books." We have this, and that. Don't you just know that Tatsu is going to open this year. They talk in such goofy voices. It can't be there regular voices. They have one float at the front gate.

They also open the gates 5 minutes late. I learned some facts though including that before the Looney Tunes characters, they had trolls walking the park. I wonder if they are the same kind like at Fright Fest, or did they look better. Who knows what was the first standup coaster in the park. Who's birthday is it today. If they didn't talk soooo goofy, it wouldn't that bad.

I don't see how this is going to get people into the park. It lasts so long at the entrance, and it's done. This park is NOT a kiddie park. The flats are far and few. I can't wait for what Shapiro tells us next. How can I believe him? Parking being $15 is going to drive people away just alone especially with the people you are trying to attract being families. There Tornado doesn't look that big.

I do want to go back to the park, but its not because of what Shapiro has done. It is because of what the OLD SF has done. It has so many rollercoasters, but it is a one-sided park. I would rather have it just a little more balanced (not totally). In other words, what improvements did they make this year to show that it's under new control? I see very little.

I know I double posted. The thing that looks familiar about that picture is the tram. When you ride the train during Fright Fest, you see a blue and white tram. I forgot if it was on last year's Fright Fest Scooby-doo train ride, but it was definitely on the train rides before Sccoby started.

So, SFGAm either had a tram ride before, or it was borrowed from another park??? :?

^They did have a tram ride before at Great America so I doubt this was the one you saw. Nice trip report though, sounds like you had plenty of time to ride everything as often as you'd liked.

I can only get enough of Tatsu. I was so waiting for it to open by the time that I went to the park, but it of course never happened. They were on about the pretzel loop (almost finished) when I was there. The ride is mostly completed, and there is less to see the more times you look at it (looking at Tatsu pictures).

I would love to go on this ride, but the fact is that it wasn't open. It was kind of cool how they moved the supports on a truck actually inside the park to get to where Revolution was.

The rides closed were:

Metro something
Orient Express
Swashbuckler (Yo-Yo)
Circus Wheel (Tilt-a-whirl has left)
Flashback (duh)
Revolution
Deja Vu
Psyclone
Sky Tower
Tatsu
1 upcharge attraction
Freefall
Spin Out (at least on Friday) Rotor that was at Cajun Cliffhanger
