What Is Fright Fest Like?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby highroller13 on July 16th, 2003, 9:24 pm
I have never been to Fright Fest, and now I have been wondering what it's like. My brother told me it's really scary and he won't take me because last year someone scared him so bad he was about to punch him, but his girlfriend stoped him. I might go withen the next few years because my birthday is Oct. 1, I hope to have a party there.Mod note: Signature removed. Please reduce it to 4 lines or less.

Well if you would have asked this question in like 1994-97 I would have told you that it was pretty sweet. But since then fright fest has become underfunded, less thrilling and cheesier every year, but its still pretty neat to see the park looking so different (red water, etc.)

The only decent themeing done at FF is the dyeing of the water to red. The reflection pond in the front looks cool with the torches too.
you can't believe it - you didn't mean it
but they saw you do it and they know your name

No it sucked then too. 1999 was the infamus 1st year without the Boo-line, they just had those Mars attacks little figures in the Hometown Station . Fright Fests prime was 1994-1997. They had the Boo Line with a skit every year. Complete with at least 40 monsters chain saw man 8), and other things too. There was also alot more people walking around. Those were the good old years when I used to look forward to Fright Fest.....

Maybe the reason that they don't have as many people walking around is because they do not have enough employees for that. When I went last year, they had the park separated into "Scare Zones." The scariest zone was Necropolis: City of the Dead. I didn't go in there but I guess it was really scary, and they had a REALLY scary Haunted House. Well, I don't know if it was scary, the only haunted house that I went in was Sadie's Dead & Breakfast Inn. That was AWESOME. They did a really good job of turning an acrade into a haunted inn. I personally LOVE Fright Fest.

Does anyone remember the headless horseman riding on a real horse for the train. I remember those days, unless he still does that, which I don't think he does. If you haven't been to fright fest go. A lot of people think it's getting worse and worse, but it's still really fun to see the park themed to something different. And it's not THAT scary as your brother said. But if you do want to be scared, they have some pretty decent haunted houses that should do the job. I recommend going, you'll have a good time. But watch out for crowds. I'd go towards the end of the month, try the last weekend and it shouldn't be that bad.

It is getting worse and worse, that is a fact. Unless, we want them to go for something not scarey. Long live the WeedWacker Guy . that is the only good thing to come out Fright Fest since 1998. Or wait the Pig Man is great too .

I think the only rides that are closed are the log flumes and splashwater falls. Oh yeah, and possibly Deja Vu, but who knows about that one.

During last year's Fright Fest, there were these weird things that were I guess supposed to look like China Dolls. But they werent scary at all. MY neighbor we'll call her D. was walking and I kind of motioned to one of those doll things to scare her. The doll walked up to her, jumped out and was like staring at her. Then she said something that made me laugh so hard. She goes, "You don't Scare Me." The doll just walked away after that :D

Trailblazer is closed too. Also, The Hometown Square station for the train. Deja Vu has been open every Fright Fest so far and is going to be open this one too.

Does any one rememeber the big fat guy who dressed u p like a woman for Fright fest? It was hillarious! He once chased my dad around. lol 8)Also, did any one see the girl in the dress in orleans palce who was acting like she wasnt real and like she was a robot or something? She was right by Shockwaves entrance. It was funny becasue people didnt know if she was real or not and someone looked up her dress then chased him!
