Does anyone know how long you wait at the top before you drop?

Lol, usually it's 3 seconds. Last time I went on it, they actually had a countdown being said up at the top. It was pretty cool, but it dropped before the countdown finished.

Do you think the Giant Drop would be better if it was a Roto-Drop style?

Yeah, I think it would be better with a roto drop style. I like it the way it is, though. It's the only ride I get scared on and it's so awesome.

I only got held up there for about 3 seconds a couple of days ago but they seem to change it up. I've been held up there for about 10-15 secs one time.

I always think its broke when I'm at the top. But only when my view is a bunch of trees and a house. You cant tell if you're still slowly moving up. Any other car has a view of some rollercoaster so you can see that you're slightly moving up.But why is there that one space for another car? The thing that pulls you up (thats on top of the car) and releases you at the top is still suspended at the top of the tower. And that button they op presses once that car is secure is still there for that empty spot. Why is this? I heard that something happened to it. And also, are there 5 or 6 cars as of right now? Thanks.

In the past, I timed it to hold you for 8 seconds. And the missing car, I guess is that way on almost every giant drop. I don't think anyone really knows why, but the most people seem to think with all the cars going, it creates a problem in the computer's programing. I myself have seen all sides operating only 1 time since the ride was installed. It wasn't until last year, I think, that an entire car was missing, and just not operating.

It was probably somebody on the ride that thought they knew when it was going to drop.

I think that SFGAm should repaint or replace the Giant Drop and name the new one Giant Shot, and have it shoot up because to me, those are way better than the dropping ones. What do you think of that :?: :!:

It was on 7/6.. it was kind of weird because there was never a countdown up at the top, and today when I rode it they didn't have it.

exactly, but they should put a countdown at the top, and randomly drop it.

It was actually like a recording? Was it the ride, or was it a person?

Giant Drop rules! I don't think it would be better as a roto-drop. I went on Drop Zone and PKI, and I prefer Giant Drop to it. I would however chose Power Tower at Cedar Point above both.

What the hell is roasted meat on pita bread have to do with the Giant drop? I was talking about a rotating drop ride that you stand up on, and at the top it tilts you face down then you drop.
