As you know, the last two coasters to break the height records were Top Thrill Dragster and Kinga Ka. There also both rocket coasters.
It makes me think if future coasters taller than KK will follow the same mold, using rocket coasters instead of lift hills. I think we will see more rocket coasters in the future, and possibly 1 or 2 may be taller than KK. Now what park they will go to is a question, but thats not what Im talking about right now. I'd love to see the traditional lift hill coasters becuase its a thrill riding up to the top and getting the time for the great view and for your last thoughts. Then taking that huge drop. Even though rocket coasters are a real rush (havnt been on one, but i can tell by watching videos and hearing peoples opinions), regular coasters last longer and in my opinion are somewhat better.
Rocket Coasters suck. I love a 90ft woody with air time way more than I like an up, down, and an end coupled with speeds so fast you can't see anything.
I still have never been on one yet, but I know what you mean about the launch being no where near as good as a chain. Even on V2, I sort of feel gipped of half the ride because i didn't get to endure that slow creaking up the hill. I honestly think it would be too expensive to make a conventional lift that tall, but maybe they will find a new type of lift, rather than using LIMs.
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
Rocket coasters are just too plain. They all do the same thing. They really need to focus on the length of the ride rather than the height. Something like Accelerator.

Yea, Storm Runner is a perfect example of a good rocket coaster. Not too much height and actually lasts sort of long. Its a very good coaster.
Dragster (being the only "rocket" coaster I've been on to date) was fun but defenitly not as good as others, when it comes to launchers I prefer a ride thats less tall and fast but has more of a layout and more airtime (Hypersonic XLC)
Even on dragster you get those last second thoughts... You sit.. and wait... and wait.... and wait then all of a sudden YELLOW YELLOW YELLOW GREEN. and your off! Plenty of time to worry. Trust me.

Although I haven't been on a rocket coaster, I think a good ol lift hill ride is better, gives you time to be uneasy. You get to see things below you and sweat it out alittle. A rocket coaster seems to ruin that experience.
I'm running to Bull on opening day, anyone gets in my way and they'll get trampled.

Not if you get stuck at the top.
In my opinion, I love both!
It's green. It's blue. It's all over you! Enjoy your ride on Déjà Vu

You have a point there, but how often does that happen.
I really don't like how companies like Intamin only use cutting edge technology on their coasters. Not to say I don't enjoy the thrill, but what happens when almost all coasters are just like TTD or KK? If you've ever ridden Phoenix at Knoebels, you know just how much airtime that is has. I enjoyed Phoenix way more than TTD or KK. What I'm trying to say is, don't alienate coasters by using too much technology. Just 'cause you can do something, doesn't mean you should.
