If the kid rope thing makes 5 digits every year, why would you get rid of it if you want to make money? That doesn't make much sense. Increasing the SFKK's price is not going to help either way. You need more product for the buck. Why should seniors pay full price to get in. They don't technically go on a lot of rides. They just won't go the park at all if they have to pay $31.99 on online special.

^If they raise attendance 10 dollars for everyone then why have it be $5.00? you've already got the 5 dollars for the kid climb, and 5 dollars more. and thats for everyone not just people using the kid climb.
^I agree with you on the pricing, but he seems like a smart business man and what he does will reflect this. It seems like all of the parks have similar problems in his eyes.
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
you know, with all the articles and things i've heard about Sharpio, i'm really starting to like this guy. I didn't like the idea of him taking over, but he's seems like a smart man, and that's what Six Flags Inc. needs.
^^ Same here. I hope he can take Six Flags in a better direction, and help parks like SFKK to shake that "bad customer service" reputation that they have built up over the past few years.
Based on the fact that only Papa John's was mentioned in this article, it sounds like of the two it will be Papa John's, not Pizza Hut, that becomes the next big corporate sponsor.
I really like what hes going for because I have a feeling its getting more and more like the Marriott days. The article states that he grew up with the Six Flags Park in Chicago and said he liked it when it was half teenagers and half families, but now its been taking away which he is trying to bring back. Way to go!
No matter how hard it is...Never EVER give up. The real failure is those who dont try.
Shapiro said he's not afraid of alienating the park's base of teen thrill riders with its softer image. "I'm looking to stretch the brand," he said. "When I grew up at Six Flags at Great America in Chicago, that's what it was. It was half family, half teenagers. I think over the last few years we've gotten away from that too much."
Maybe our park will be a "special park"

If Six Flags does go with Papa Johns, I hope they have the cheese sticks with the garlic sauce, if not, Papa John's pizza isnt a huge improvement over what most of the parks have now, and in some cases would be even worse than current pizza (SFKK, at least used to have some damn good pizza)

I think it's a very good choice to have any restaurants to come into the park. You put in a dinky Pappa John's Stand in every park, and you got a whole lot of money for that space.

I didn't try SFKK's pizza but I know at SFGAm that firehouse pizza (simply slices) is very good and I hope they don't replace it with papa john's
This is a little off topic, but there seems to be something going on at the park. It seems like SFKK has coaster track in the parking lot, but this could just be for GL. The track seems to be from GL that was in storage at SFMW, but why would it be there. I thought GL was in good shape, and I don't why it would need several sections of "new" track. If it is not to repair GL with, then I don't know how much can be trusted in these stories.
Do you think as far as customer service, he will make suprise stops at parks during the season's to check out the employee's? and if he see's them underpreforming? recommend they be fired?
yes i agree with the changes when sfga was half family and half teenagers the park was clean the people cared the prices were right the food was tasty and the accidents were zero and there was no fight shipro should be the key to a good start i know the ride are operated asfe hopefully he keeps them that way not like the other parks with personel injuries or rides malfunctions
The changes Shapiro is making are certainly positive for the company. The parks will now appeal to families as much as teenagers. The food being offered are more diverse than in recent years. Accidents are inevitable; I'm sure the rides are being operated as safe as possible.
