BTR: Which is better?

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby DejaVuGurl1203 on August 15th, 2005, 11:51 pm
For those who have ridden both, I want to know which BTR is better: The one at SFStL or SFGAm? I know they're basically the same, but I'm sure there's some kind of difference.

I'll be going to SFStL on October 1st... so I was just wondering.

I have been on the one @ Gadv, but its not the mirrored version like SFSTL. I almost blacked out on the one at Gadv my first ride but it was prolly just a fluke. You fly around gravel instead of grass and trees like SFGAm so I like the SFGAm one better. SFGAdvs queue is MUCH nicer though.

The SFSTL is mirrored and painted black still. It felt a little more smoother than the one at SFGAm.

The one at SFGAM.

It's a little smoother.

I perfer the one in St Louis better because there is one area where you get pretty close to the ground and the wall... it's pretty cool

As far as the ride goes, SFStl. Its smoother and less intense which is good for me cause I grey out at 4.5 gs.

Looking at the ride experience, I'd say SFGAm because its got the tree feet-choppers and the water fly-over.

I go with BTR at SFGAm. Sfstl and SFno are great, better than the others. But, the SFGAm one has the most trees and stuff. Quite fun.

SFStL seems slower, I know it's not but it feels that way. Probably because there really aren't any trees or anything. I personally like ours better.

I agree. Our's is much better. The serious lack of anything to fly around at St. Louis makes the ride just a bit boring. Ours is flying through trees, over ponds, makes a nice little dip into the ground. Theirs flys over gravel and pavement.

As for how it rides, it's too hard to compair.

Of the 4 BTRs i have ridden (SFSTL,SFOT,SFMM,SFGAM) Ill have to say that SFGam is the best of the Four.

Most intense, fastest and the first!

Of course its an ACE Landmark too! (Which doesnt mean a god damn thing  )

BTR Ranks:

1. SFGam
2. SFMM
3. SFOT
4. SFSTL

SFGAm's is better. It's the original, what's not to love?

Exactly. I also HATE it when people say OUR B:TR is cloned! It's the original. It's not cloned, it's been cloned from. They make it sound like ours isn't the original. Makes me MAD!

I can't speak for St. Louis, but that is the main reason the SFOG Batman wasn't as fun as ours is... no scenery. It's really not that exciting hanging down over gravel.
Finally Coaster Season!!

I thought that SFStL's BTR was bad, the intesity did not feel the same, it seemed like it was slower too.

I agree, SFStl's version really does feel tame compared to ours. And Im not really sure why.

well, while I dont have anything meaningful to contribute (I find all batmen to feel quite similar exept for the mirror images where applicable similar, though I havent ridden 2 of them).

Random fact: SFSTL runs our Batman's original trains, so SFGAm has trains that are one year newer than the ride. SFSTL(their GM actually) was weary of such a new design at first, so rather than risk it, they wanted something they knew worked for sure, so rather than risking it and missing opening day and basically wasting a hell of a lot of advertising dollars, SF had SFGAM's trains sent to SFStL over from our BTR, and we got their new ones.

Just feeling random here. :)

You had something to contribute. I had no idea about the trains.

In other news BTR @ SFGAdv has been stuck on the lift for days, and there is a crane next to it. Does that mean they are taking it down

If it was our BTR, some people would think that on this board

The SFSTl version as others have said just feels less intense.

While I enjoyed the ride, it just has that feeling of just chugging along through the course.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
