I just got my SixFlags Great America 2006 Map and Guide

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby CoasterDude12-2 on April 6th, 2006, 2:18 pm
Sorry, but I'm not showing it. This year's map has the Tornado and HH on the cover as well as IW. The waterpark is still free, Triple Play is still on the ride list (Thank God). The map design is the same as last year's and the only noticeable difference is the Tornado, and the parking lot. They are really publicising Tornado, and that this is the 30th Anniversary. I can't wait for this season to start!

Yeah, but where are the new coasters? Aren't we getting any flats from the late SFAW? Just kidding.

I'm getting pretty excited for the tornado to touch down on HH this Memorial Day weekend. I never really went on any waterslides that required an inner-tube until last summer so then I was able to give most slides a try depending on how long the line is.

Yes, IW is on the map. It has been for the past 16 years. :)

I hope the park soundtracks are restored back to their original shape for the 30th anniversary. Especially the emasculated one in Carousel Plaza; it needs attention badly.

And IW is on the FRONT of the map, and on the FRONT of the brouchore

Did they have any pictures of people having fun in Hurricane Harbor in either, because last year my cousin who who'd at the park let me and my sisters go to a photo shoot for it so I could be in one of those. 8)

I dont think that has a map either. In the past, regular brochures (ie. the ones you get at places like Jewel-Osco) and the maps have the same cover design but the map says "Park Map & Guide" at the top.

^ I doubt his has it either, I think he said park map because the covers of the actual park map and the brochure pretty much look exactly the same.

Is that the best picture they could find? That lady looks like she's in pain.

Speaking of park maps, don't be surprised if the huge maps that Six Flags parks used to sell in the old days makes a return this year. They were handing new ones out at Goliath media day @ SFoG (GREAT coaster, btw, and a great event..maybe one day I will post a TR :)) and I heard rumors that they might be rolling them out again to all Six Flags parks. I hope this turns out to be true. :D

^I was just about to say that. I dont think IW has been on the cover since it opened in 1990.

Yeah, and it was taken back when they had the old OTSR's.

And the rails are still silver... so it must have been taken when the ride was newer.

Id expect RB, SUF, V2 or Vu to be on the cover. This must be a clue to something.

What clue would SFGAm have for IW? If its being removed, it wouldn't be on the cover.

How about this again in case you didn't get the first time (about IW).
