Earlier it was POURING rain with strong lightning here in Chicago. Is that storm moving upward? If not, i don't think i have anything more to worry about.
Also, in storms you are supposed to turn off your computer. Not quite sure why, but you are supposed to. The same reason for not talking on the phone during storms. Something with the electricity.
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
Systems like these are not uncommon in november. In fact, we get 2-3 of these almost every year. November is a secondary tornado season with the focus of the storms lieing over the Ohio Valley. These happen much the same way they do in Spring, low pressure forms over the southern plains, rides the low level jet into the lower midwest, taps gulf moisture and canadian dry air. Same dynamics that spawn spring storms.
Ok here is what is predicted to happen at this time.
North of the Warm Front(the areas in the Severe T-Storm Watch) will mainly be a Large Hail threat with the possiblity of damaging winds.
Along and south of the Warm Front(Tornado watch area): Isolated Tornadoes, Large Hail, and damaging winds.
Of course drenching rain and deadly lightning are likely with any storms in the 2 areas. If you have a NOAA Weather Radio, it is a good idea to put it on standby/alert mode tonight and have it next to your bed in case your area gets a warning. Stay safe everyone.
I am hoping to get woken up by a loud crack of lightning. It is so thrilling. Last time that happened, my heart was racing.
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/
Ok, right now everyone that is in this threat should be starting to monitor the weather conditions, as they will quickly start to go downhill.
If you go to bed and have a NOAA radio, activate it. If you are like me(I need to buy one) and don't have one, make sure you get up every so often and check the conditions in your area.
Like turn on the tv and go to The Weather Channel or go on the internet to http://nws.noaa.gov.
Stay safe everyone. Hopefully we won't see anything like what happened in Indiana.
