not all coasters have air gates. sometimes the operators just trust people to not be stupid.
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.

I don't think they're required in Japan.

I'm also fairly sure China doesn't require them, either.

The coaster looks awesome.

I should go to Japan and ride it. Just Kidding. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, last time I went to Disney World, which was 2001, Space Mountain didn't have airgates. Have they been added since or is it not a requirement in the USA to have them?

Air Gates are not required in the US, un until about 3 years ago, Magnum, Raptor and a bunch of other coasters at CP had no gates. There are quite a few coasters around that dont have them, They just slow the loading process (exept of course on rides like V2, DV, Boomerangs, etc where they really are a necessary safety feature)

I'm sure it doesn't help insurance costs not to have them, though.

Nope Japanese are very trust worthy and don't do stupid things like americans. Yes I've been on the coaster, Its acually fairly boring except the drop and the second drop from the building, everything else is pretty boring, but still a good ride. But SD2000 was better before it became SBNO. And your probably thinking, why would a person with two posts say this, and I don't believ him. Just because I have 2 posts dosn't meen anything. lol, i've been coming here for more then 2 years, just I don't post.

Earlier you were talking about how sweet of a coaster it looked, and now you are talking about how boring it looks. I don't understand. Did you fly to Japan between those two posts and ride it?

Why would any park not operate a 3 year old Roller Coaster? It looks really cool.

^Because one wheel of the train derailed into the Wave Pool or something. Basically what I've heard is that bad publicity in Japan is like 183029X what it is here in the US. I've heard that it works but they are waiting to open it again.

SD2K tossed a wheel into a waterpark I believe killing someone (or at least injured, I know it hit someone).

Japanese authorities are keeping it closed for the time being,
