I was at the park yesterday, and on sky trek tower, my friend and I were talking to the operator, and asked about the amount of land they owned and why they're not expanding, and she said that while they own a lot of land in that area they won't expand, but if they get a new ride something old is coming out instead. We asked a lot of questions, but she kept saying that she didn't know. So...I don't know, I'd hate to see any of the coasters go...

Well im pretty sure they will have to take some other ride or coaster out sooner or later.By the way has anyone began to see scenary and the queues for deja vu going up, opening day the awnings for the zig zag werent there and now they are. Is that suppose to mean something that im really happy about!? Just thinking.
It's not how high or how fast you build the roller coaster it's how smooth you build it!
The area across the interstate is marked out for "Six Flags Entertainment Village," at least that was what was approved by the Village of Gurnee four years ago. Six Flags had five years to begin construction, so I reckon that something will happen on the other side of the interstate this winter. It's supposed to be a resort, but there was also talk of a waterpark, or a thrill park extension. And I'm not sure, but I couldn't imagine that a bridge over the interstate is inconcievable. I mean, Six Flags is a world-wide, multi-billion-dollar corporation. If they want it done, it will happen.
I'm not seeing that ever happen for some reason... I'm not exactly sure why, but it just seems far-fetched maybe. But then again before May 3rd I couldn't imagine driving up to the park and instead of seeing Big Blue seeing an amazing flying coaster some people like to call Superman. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that Entertainment Village is possible.
If they do construct something on the other side of the tollway, you will never see both sides connected. The Illinois Tollway will not allow access across its property. Heck, when Marriott was proposing to build the park , they requested a separate on and off ramp from the tollway and that got shot down.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
i really couldnt care for a waterpark.....and extension would be awesome....but if the park cant find a way to get guests across the highway to the other side, then i dotn think it will happen(but im still hoping)

If, I mean If they started an expansion on the other side. Can't we get the Govenor to let them build a overpass, with low taxes. We can just say it would bring more jobs to the state. He would kill for that, lol. He would do anything for morejobs. Look what our state did for Boeing. He should be willing.
couldnt they just build a big walkway across the interstate for us to walk across and then expand more on the other side because if they did and construction to the highway wouldnt it really screw up traffic for ppl who use that highway to get up to great america?????
I don't see a walkway over the interstate linking SFGAm to another section anytime in the near future. If the construction were to be during SFGAm's off-season, it would not cause too much of a congestion to those getting off the ramp on Grand Avenue. But, I don't see this being done anytime soon either.
If you take out SSA and Go-Karts, you have a nice space for a roller coaster. You might have to add the coaster on to the parking lot a little, but no1 really ever parks over their. Another possibilty is you tak SFGAM's extra land and make that the parking lot (or some of it) and put and tunnel under it like at the zoo. It would make room for at least 2-3 coasters and possibly a new territory.
Its hard to come up with signatures. When I get one it will be right here.

Holy crap dude! That's a record on these forums... 7 consecutive posts! Geez, you know you can put posts together... Having so many consecutive posts is no way to make friends.
Ok... I realize you're new to this site and I welcome you. I know these forums are for talking about Great America... It's just annoying to some people when you put so many posts in a row. I wasn't cutting you down or anything, just merely helping out by informing you that you are in fact able to put all that together in one post. And about the double post, if you realize right away that you made a double post, you can delete them for a short period afterwards... P.S. I did put a wink at the end of my previous post, obviously you didn't see it. Sorry if I came off sounding rude or anything.
This is a response to T-Biggs's comment on Ohare Expansion. The airplanes fly right over my house and i don't complain, I'm a full suporter of expansion.(Plus JetBlue wants to come )I know alot of people who live underneath the flight ;paths who want it. NEW WINDOWS. lol
