SF Critic wrote:Yea Time Warner can terminate the agreement, but why would he? First of all he is still getting money out of the parks regardless because of movie rights to the rides and shows of Batman and Looney Tunes. Thats alot of money. Now Warner Bros. is really working with SFMM on the show Batman Begins (with the new movie debut to hit summer). Im impressed with Warner Bros. this year due to its new show and movies.
HE? Time Warner is a large publicly held corporation, of which the Warner Bros. Movie and Television Production is a part of.
Were did you see Yosemite? Besides loving the park, I'm a big cartoon fan. Never seen Yosemite Sam in all the times I've been to GAm. Saw Pepe during Fright fest in the Looney Tunes kids area last year.
Once again, I could be wrong, and As they've added character's this year, this may not be complete.
Looney Tunes:
Bugs
Daffy
Foghorn
Sylvester
Marvin
Tweety
Taz
Pepe
Granny
Yosemite Sam
Wile E. Coyote
Porky Pig
(Lola, K-9, and the Instant Martians join this for FF)
CCN:
Scooby
Shaggy
Fred Flintstone
Barney Bubble
George Jetson
Astro Jetson
Dexter
Dee Dee
Yakko
Wakko
Dot
They used to have a Johnny Bravo Too, but I haven't seen him in years.
Yosemite Sam was in HTS on Opening day, and I saw him walking backstage from DJV's line. For pics see the site in my profile. It's an MSN Group. And I'll have pics of Pepe and Scooby up either later today or Tomorrow.
Eagle04:
For the 3-4 times I've been at the park, Yosemite Sam has been near the gazebo across from the Whizzer. Lola Bunny was in the same general area in HTS, too.
I've talked to some people who have been friends of the characters in years past. if you catch my drift
Speedy was banned from the street NOT because of any PC issue with TW. That concerned an individual cartoon where he had a gold tooth and an assortment of other stereotypes, along with a cousin "slowpke rodriguez" a TERRIBLE stereotype.
At SFGam, the reason was logistics. That hat is huuuuge (see the same for Yosemite Sam). And it doesnt fit thru doors or around corners to get off the midway. On windy days it functions as a giant sail, very awkward, and potentially painful to speedy.
As to why he is back this year?
No idea, but kudos! I've seen a lot of the more "secondary" characters out on the streets. I guess the main ones are at the Six Flags Party, and Theater Royale shows. So yay for not seeing the same 4 characters everywhere. I never liked seeing Bugs and the Front Gate, Bugs at Royale, Bugs on the Street. I dunno if this is an accident because of staffing, or what, but I hope it continues.
Lola, don't expect to see too much of her this year.
Her problem is the nature of her clothing. It tends to invite creeps to feel that can do what they desire to her. While security can, and has, thrown people out of the park, and pressed assault charges, it is unfair to expect lola to endure that. so she doesnt go out often. Only during a few carefully controlled situations. (i.e. parade, media events)
6flags has not gotten new characters in years, tho this year i hear that they lost the anamaniacs. Spielberg is now the sole owner of them (it was a joint venture with WB) so i'd be surprised to see them.
Bugs, Daffy, Sylvester, Foghorn, Tweety, Taz, Wile E Coyote, Pepe Le Pew, Porky Pig, K-9, Lola, Granny, Y. Sam, Speedy, Marvin, and I saw the Instant Martians on a walk this year! Fred, Barney, George, Astro, Scooby, Shaggy. No Dexter and DeeDee, dunno where they are, no one will tell me exactly. Contract problem with G. Tartakofsky? (sp?)
Spots to see them: Carosel, Hometown Park, Looney Toons Natl Park, Camp Cartoon Network. Later in the year they should be moving towards S.W. Territory (by the HH entrance) and by Eagle and Totally Tweety in C.F. (that is in ADDITION to Carosel Plaza, HP, LTNP, and CCN, not INSTEAD of)... or so I've been promised by a helpful employee. Was he blowing smoke up my bum? I hope not. Me and my family love spotting the characters, and make it a point to find as many as we can.
The characters are out yes, but there is no set list per day, they are an exciting and random addition to the park experience. No one knows who will be out what day, and I can't find anyone who knows unless I ask an guide that day. In the past I've always had luck asking the character guide where others will be, they are usually happy to oblige. But they never seem to know who will be out the next day, much to my frustration, I suppose that they want to preserve the magic of a character appearance? I dunno. I miss the old Gazebo in what is now Mardi Gras, you could always find a character there! (unless there was a show there that year.)

Well, Lola is always out during ff with her Hawaiian Garb. and I have seen here plenty of times this year. I've also seen Porky, Wile E. Speedy, and Pepe, doing Meet N' Greets in Mardi Gras, outside KC and the Bayou Grill.
yes, I would like to see a larger parade. I always stay and watch the parade, I think it's a nice end to hte day. "It's the Six flags Jumpin' Jammin' Jubilee!" I was really happy when they added Granny to the parade last year, and I hope they make similar additions come June.
I don't know but as posted above I went 43 times last year and didn't see him once. That's why when I found out that he was there I was looking this year. I usually don't hang out around CCN too much. I was there with my smaller nephew in CCN so maybe that's why I saw him this year??
