I would bet that it is cause you think they are just going to set a support upright without securing it?????

Sure they would set it up without securing it if it's not going to stay there. It's a triangle base, so it's stable. And to secure it adequetly, you would need a footer. If there is a footer there, its not temporary, that would be stupid and pointless. So, either its permanent on a footer, or its just sitting there, not secured.

Why wouldn't it stand up? Just because it's big doesn't inherantly make it unstable. It's a triangle base, so as long as the weight isnt shifted all to one side, it will stand. Sure, the weight is shifted somewhat, but I doubt it's enough to knock it over under it's own weight. I'd be willing to say all triangle base supports would stand on their own if they were not supporting anything, and not secured to footers. Otherwise, it would result in them being supported by the track, which defeats the purpose of a support.

Yeah I agree with Travis. And I highly doubt they would have part of their coaster THAT far out into the parking lot.

If your going to try to get as close as you can get, get as close as you can get without tresspassing. SF could get really mad if they see someone tresspassed to get pictures, and it could result in the person who took the pics to get arrested or lose thier season pass. So if I were you I would not tresspass to get close pics.

I agree with T_Biggs. That support could stand on its own. Wind isnt going to blow over something that heavy with a tripod base. It would take alot of wind.
