De Ja Vue

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Now, i sit hear and laugh, because if i were the person in charge of okaying the adding of rollercoasters to six flags, i sure as hell wouldnt purchase 4 De Ja Vues (1 at SFGA, 1 at SFMM 1 at SFA and 1 in eurupe) i would purchase 1, and run it for 1 year, and see how it works, and if it doesnt, then dont use it.

I have noticed with de ja vue the only problom is the cable system. thats all that is ever wrong with it. i think personally the cable system cant handle the weight of the car. i mean it randomly breaks when its pulling the train up the lift. and stuff, isnt there another way to pull the car up the lift? i dont think the cable lift can hold the weight, thats why after continues use the stress on the ride cuases it to shut down.

It was stupid for them to 1: Not only buy it but buy it without any type of prototype being built before it and 2: to build one in Madrid after the others were built .

Pssshhh, yeah, ya'll wish.

there isn't a DV at SFA, its at SFOG. and the cable doesn't break, the carrage and train miscatch. but, yeah, SF was pretty stupid with that one.
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.

Six Flags has had very bad luck with Prototypes, espicially Deja Vu

Why do you think they are only building a rocket coaster 3 years after the first one came out?

If the cable is the only problem, then I'm John Kerry.

Like Virtua Tennis said, if only it was true that DejaVu's cables were the only problem.

SFGamer, this is your last warning. Stop posting off topic material in the threads.

As for the Vu's it seems to be a lot more than just the cable. On a normal day they will have problems with restraints, pneumatics, misparking, miscatching, the floor wont raise/lower, brake problems, staffing issues, sensor/electical malfunctions, etc..

OKAY! So if Six Flags have a lot of problems with Deja Vu! (restrains, and raising things, whatever!)So Why they just take it down. It's been three seasons already: 2002 2003 and 2004, and SF is paying for it, to be there, every month! I would take it down, and build another "normal" coaster. THINK

Such as me :) I highly doubt they'd take down Deja Vu anytime soon. It's still a really popular ride.

NO, it's like this: People go on vu and then it is too intense so they go to demon. Or demon isn't intense enough so they want to challenge vu.

Look. I have never seen the thing not have a line when its open. Sure, it has downtime, but when its open, I usually see full queue, not including switchbacks nessacarily.

The only reason it usually has a full line is because nobody gets to go on it when they're there. When i went with my dad two weeks ago he saw it running and said it was the first time he ever saw it running. So when people go once a year and its only open half of the time, and its open then they want to ride it. The line takes forever. If the line was that amount long for raging bull it would be a 10 minute line.

I remember the first time I saw it running ever.

It was during a July trip last season, I had gotten 1st place to bull and was in the front with my 3 friends and saw it test. I went completely wild in my seat and sprinted over there when I was finished with my ride. I guess it was the 2nd or 3rd day of the season that it was opened so I was happy.

EDIT: I'm a complete idiot, that's the first day I rode DV.

The first time I saw in run was back in 2001. It was the day of the Pom Pon competition (I only remember this because I was watching someone then stayed for the day.) and I saw it cycle with a huge line forming. Thought about getting in line but then I saw the brakes catch it in the loop. Yeah, I was 13, not a coaster nerd, and I was outta there faster than you could say Deja Vu.

Well you know what! I love Deja Vu very much. But if I would be SF director, I would take it off. It's not running and it's just wasting money and place! And It's popular because it's not running! And that makes people go on it!

I remember when I first saw it running, October 21st, 2001. My mom wouldn't let me and my friend go on it, can't really remember why. But we rode it my next visit there, in 2002. I was expecting it to be cool but not that great... BOY, was I WRONG. My friend and I LOVED it haha.

Whenever I see that it's not open, I always go to Demon unless it actually has a line.

Indeed.

I think my mom didn't let me on because she thought it wasn't reliable, or the line was too long. Something crazy like that.
