I agree with you there. I can only give the excuse that they couldn't get in to paint with all the camera equipment in the way. But then again, wouldnt it have been easier to paint DURING construction? And theyd better get going on installing that first queue block before tomorrow...
I WISH I could give the benefit of the doubt in this case. I really can't anymore, though. They are incapable of showing any urgency with their new capital. Even Mardi-Gras Hangover was behind. SFGAmFan said it best "Crackhead Joe puts that thing up in a couple hours every week!!" Vid: https://youtu.be/6qH_-r40APw?t=152. This is a new low, even for them.
Doing my part to make management feel like they're important! What would they do otherwise? Effectively run a park? Not Likely! #MGAGA

That particular argument is kinda flawed. Our Ring of Fire is "the world's largest" and it's also a park model. That involves ground work, footer pouring, and queue construction (exit in this case). Traveling rides are built with ease of construction in mind and in some cases have hydraulics built in, so they dont have to use a crane.
If you are all so unhappy with how six flags does business and puts out new attractions then stop going. I could care less when the damn thing opens up and you know why?
BECAUSE ONCE AGAIN WE GOT SOMETHING INNOVATIVE AND SOMETHING THAT’S NOT A CLONE!
3 out of our last 4 coasters have been specifically designed for us. What other Six Flags Park can say that?
You guys complain when we don’t get something and complain when we do. The park is damned if they do and damned if they don’t with some of you.
I’m glad you’ll be skipping this ride then since you’re so unhappy....lines will be shorter for people who are actually greatful for what we have in our own backyard. I’ve been going to the park since it has been open and realize how lucky I am to be less then a hour away from, in my opinion, the best park in the chain! And I think corporate agrees with me cause they keep giving us all the good stuff. Just wait till you see what’s coming the next few years.

Yeah, I dont care how long construction took. Just kinda surprised about the painting of everything. Mostly because Im excited to see how it looks all put together.

That's definitely a fair criticism of that. I don't want to make it seem like I don't understand how these rides are built. The point being made wasn't so much that it should have taken a weekend, more that it definitely should have at least opened on schedule. Mardi Gras Hangover is a permanent model with hard installation which obviously will take more time than a weekend, along with other factors. Comparing ride setup to ride setup, though, there's no reason coasters should have debuted before the fruit loop.

Some people can't be happy about anything. The ride is opening to passholders tomorrow! Be happy it's opening!!! This thread shocks me sometimes..this forum shocks me how some people have to complain about a small thing that really doesn't effect the actual ride..

I think that you've made some very good points here. Great America is without a doubt one of the better parks in the chain, at least top 3. However, my opinions on Maxx Force not so much based on the attraction itself, but the seemingly never-ending process to build a 1000 foot coaster that Six Flags seems dead set on. Lets put this into perspective here:
Six Flags generates roughly 1.3 billion in annual revenue. They are employing around 45,000 people over the course of a season (2017 estimate- so doesn't include SFDL and all of the other Premier Parks acquisitions) They had 4 people installing the track. One shift. AND if they're installing this anything like Goliath, JLA, Joker, or MGH, they are relying tremendously on their full-time ride mechanics, electricians, etc, removing them from their daily workload to get this done. And it's still over a month behind.
I'm not sure why people choose to make excuses for its late opening. Whether you choose to ride it and continue to patronize the park or you choose to cut it off all together, the delays are largely based on the parks inability to properly manage a project and there's no way around that. It is what it is. The company's financial performance is finally starting to catch on, just like the general public's awareness of their gimmicks.

So you actually think the park’s employees are the ones who does the install huh? The install is completed by outside companies not the in park maintenance crew. Everyone is so quick to judge the park on how slow they move when in reality it’s an outside company. Sky High is who did the install. Not Six Flags. Then S&S comes in and finishes the job and when it’s ready then it’s turned over to the park.
It would be nice if Six Flags cared more about the 'little things'. But they don't. You either just accept that and accept the park for what it is (even though it could be a lot better with just a little effort) or you just complain and complain because they just don't care, because they don't have to.
I choose the first, because what kind of life is it to constantly spend all your time complaining about something as stupid as an amusement park that doesn't live up to your standards?

I'm going to go ahead and give Six Flags the benefit of the doubt here.... the weather has been TERRIBLE. We had the snowstorms, Artic blasts, literally raining/storming everyday for nearly a month. Having storms for a week straight.... like this week. Of course the construction is going to be delayed. You can't paint if it's going to rain. You can't construct a lightning rod while on the lightning rod during a lightning storm. I think you guys are being way too critical here. I'm just happy the ride is finished and people like it. You gotta cut them some slack. We should be happy to even have this coaster here, and you guys at their throats for things that they could very well still be working on. Things get behind. It happens.
Now, has anyone else ridden MaxxForce? You care to share your input?

Agree 100% with your and B&MGuy's comments. I'm thrilled we got this new ride!

Single Day Ride Count Record
50 rides 8/17/2018 (Without Flash Pass - Coasters After Dark)
So I looked at the news article for Maxx Force, and they said it goes from 0-78 in 1.7 seconds. Can someone confirm this? Because if that is true, that acceleration exerts 2.09 gs. It would make it the third fastest launch in the world (I'm pretending Ring Racer exists. Otherwise Maxx would be #2).
Just got to the Baymont Inn across the street from the park, and ran into a guy with a Maxx Force media pass. He said the ride is great, but the large part of the queue still has no railing and some of the railing that is in is still not painted. He doesn't think they worked on it today with all the rain. Regardless, I can't wait to ride tomorrow. I wonder how far out into the midway the line will spill if they cant get the queue done for Thursday.

^^^At a hotel because I live almost 3 hours away. Always come and stay for a couple of days at a time. Easier to drive up the niyght before than getting the kids up extra early.
Sadly I will not be attending as I’m currently on my trip (right now we are heading to Great Adventure) so it would be nice if all of you above would be able to give your perspective on the ride.
