The "Small park updates" thread

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Guy_With_A_Stick on July 13th, 2014, 1:26 pm
I didn't see a topic for this, so I guess I'll start it. This is a place to put small updates and things that changed at the park. For example, they FINALLY got a 2014 audio file for Sky Trek Tower.

I also noticed that a few trees were cut down around Pictorium...

So yeah, post small updates here!

- Train is testing as of today
- Ricochet was closed earlier this morning, wasn't sure if it opened later in the day
- Totally Kickin' Chicken now gives chicken strips dipped in sauce as "Wings" (This could of all ready been going on, I'm not sure how long they've doing this)
- American Eagle Red was closed earlier this morning
- Takis and Fruit Roll-Ups were given out at the exits
- Raging Bull's final piece was removed and is ready to be shipped to SFA. JK

While riding today, I noticed that one of the pipes along the roof for the American Eagle red side brake run was spraying water. I notified the ride ops when I got back into the station, and it was taken care of by the time I got in line for the blue side

That could be why it was closed then.

Can anyone see the fire damage on Grand Music Hall? Have they repaired that?
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

I saw it at the beginning of the season from looking from the one pathway in between the Grand Music Hall and the Hometwon Square bathrooms. Not sure if they have repaired it yet or not. I will check next time I am at the park.

As of yesterday,

-Train is open.

-the "Totally Kicking Chicken" sign that shows the food actually showed chicken strips dipped in sauce.

-Red side of American Eagle closes at night.

-I saw the "Six Flags Grand Finale" last night. It was better than that POS igNight.

-CapriSun was handing out "Free Samples"

uploadfromtaptalk1405957810943.jpg

That black thing is an iPhone 4s to show proportion. Yes, they handed these out for free...

-I found out that V2 at night is a very neat experience.

-The worker in BB's tower was 1/2 asleep.

That's all.

Demon is now running Red and Black trains. Yellow is probably in maintenance.

Tue. 7/22/14 Update:

- Batman and Superman both had single rider lines via Flash Pass entrance (using same lanyard system as Goliath).

- Train was not operating today, at least not after 4 p.m.

- I love Goliath a little more each time I ride it. I think it will be a coaster that gets even better with age.

If you have used these. Would you mind sharing a little bit about you're experience. Seeing as how well Goliath's worked for the first month of operation. Also, if it saved time because I go to the park myself a good portion of the trips. If it did, I might abuse these lines. 8)

It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle :?
Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? :P

Were there signs, were they telling people, or were you just told this if you asked? I really hope it was 1 or 2, I hate when something like this is setup that only benefits people "in the know"

The Cafe in Orleans Place got repainted, noticed it on the way to Goliath today. The building is now lime green and yellow, just the the Go Fresh Cafe stand in County Fair Food Court

1) Old Cyber Cafe is now Go Fresh Cafe

2) When riding AE, you can see stuff behind SWA.
