Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Post all construction related comments, pictures and questions right here! On a side note, has GAm received the variance yet from the Village of Gurnee?

^ That's a great idea! It'll be cool to see how it progresses.

Does anyone know when we can expect to see footers being poured, and did Gurnee grant the park the height variance yet?

The meeting for the board to officially approve it is the 9th.

^ Thank you! And in my opinion, that meeting is somewhat pointless. Of course it'll be approved!

^ I personally feel that it's important to separate the construction progress from our opinions of the ride, but I guess I see your logic.

I agree there's no many threads. We don't really need two different threads

What's the big deal about separating topics? It's a forum, not a chat room. Discussions are meant to be archived by category and topic. Avoiding thread creation doesn't have any inherent merits, especially if the new thread is going to get more than a couple pages of posts.

If you have 2 topics too closely related you can have the same conversations in both.

Thoughts about the ride relate in no way to the construction.

Yes, they have begun the initial clearing, but ground cannot be broken until after the official approval for the height variance on Monday. Someone please correct me if I'm giving any misinformation.

I am sure they can break ground beforehand as long as they don't go above 125ft before the official approval. But we all know its just a legal thing and a formality.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
