Do you avoid long lines at all cost or do you go on what you want to go on regardless of wait times? When you get to a long line on one of your favorite coasters that haven't ridden yet for the day do you fight it out or just skip it and hit up the flats, Demon, shows, food, etc?
For me, wait time doesn't matter(on X-Flight, Batman, and American Eagle) as long as I get to ride it. But if it's another ride(S:UF,TDK, RC, etc...), I just skip it and either go back to that ride later or ride it next time I go.
I tend to pass on rides with lines over an hour unless it is Viper, RB, or Batman. If I'm visiting a new park I'll wait in the long lines or if it is a new coaster like X-Flight or the new 2014 coaster. I go with other people a lot though, so we find ways to entertain ourselves.
I don't mind waiting in lines all that much. Whenever I go to the park, 90% of the time I get there before it opens so I can get on all the major coasters at least once before lines get to long.
Line more than about 20 mins and I skip it. Usually can get on flats pretty quick on those days, either that or there's gurnee mills, the jelly belly warehouse, or sit at home.

The longest I have waited was 2 hours (on different days) for Roarin' Rapids and Logers Run. Generally all of the stuff I go on does not have bad lines (1 2 or 3 cycles) Even during FF DEMON has a pretty full station but with 3 trains running it moves very fast. I Will say Viper should have 3 trains because during FF the sign said 30 mins but with pay 2 cut it was more like 45-75 mins. Only thing that had really bad lines was massacre medical center and manslaughter manor but manor moved a lot faster and was better than MMC. I am thinking AE backwards will be a little wait, or maybe because it has been done so many times in the past its lost its appeal.
It would require a little construction but it wouldnt be that bad. I think it might be an option further down the line when it would need retracking, the change wouldnt even impact the ride that much it would still be the same experience just with a higher capacity whats the matter with that?
^ A little construction? A LITTLE construction? You have no idea how much stuff would have to be moved to safely run 3 trains on Viper. They would have to move the entire last turn to make the brake run long enough. Seriously. And that's not even getting into the logistics of adding an unload platform. That would need even more stuff to move.
A lot of times, if rides are 1hr & above, I won't go on it.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
I think I'm the same as everyone else that has posted so far. About a half hour or less, I'll ride. Otherwise, I'm not going to wait. I've ridden everything I want to at SFGAm and don't care if I don't ride something. Now, if I'm at a new park or riding a new coaster, I'll wait a little longer. I try to make new park visits during off peak times to avoid waiting though. I hit it perfectly when I went to Kings Island last year in late August. We really didn't wait more than 5 trains for anything on that trip.
An addendum to my 20 min time, that is for SFGAm only, figured this post was for SFGAm only, at other parks for coasters or unique flats I'll wait as long as the line is regardless with unique rides being ridden first then move onto clones. Ditto for unique stuff at SFGAm, new ride backwards or brand new ride on opening day, etc.

It really depends on the day. It's not so much the wait time for a ride, it's the relative wait time of the rides to each other.
Pam and I generally make our way around the park in a counterclockwise manner and have gotten to the point where we have an idea what the wait time for a ride should be on a given day, relative to other rides. For instance, if Whizzer is at 30 minutes on a day when the park seems slow, it's a skip. If it's at 30 minutes on a day when the park is packed, you ride it.
We generally end up riding a lot more coasters on light days and a lot more flats on busy days.
I go on the VIP tour, so there are no lines. It took 3 minutes from the time I said we wanted to ride Raging Bull to the time we sat down in our seats. I only go once a year and on a Saturday. I'm not wasting my time standing with the general population for 2+ hours to get on a roller coaster.
