I received a email today from Brandon Bruce (Public Relations Specialist) inviting me to sign up first for the commercial shoot for the show this coming Thursday from 8:30pm - Midnight. I guess they were asking all Batman The Ride commercial participants first before opening it up the general public on Facebook. Emails says they have 100-150 spots to fill. Also says it will not be the full show but one particular segment over and over for the shoot. Hope I'm selected again!
Here's the link to sign up...it was stated we could share it with whoever
The email said they wanted updated footage of Viper. So im guessing they are just getting some b-roll of the forwards ride if they need it for the commercials

I'll be there tonight as well with 2 others. Can't Wait!
The reason they are asking for Viper shoot right now might be for two reasons. One is that they are going to have the equipment there for Ignight already, and they might as well. The other reason could be is that it's an enticement for people to be at the Ignight thing too. I don't know about anyone else, but 3 hours watching people dancing doing the same thing over and over again seems so boring. But if you add Viper rides, it doesn't sound so bad.

It was actually really fun! True, there were times where we sat around waiting for shots to be figured out, but when everyone got into it, it was like a mini rave, lol. And because we were such a good audience, they treated us to the whole show! Score!
I also had the pleasure of being part of the Ignite shoot along with my wife and kids. Overall it seems like a pretty good show and was a cool experience for the kids. Hopefully there will be more fireworks involved when it opens to the public on the 14th. My older kids and I were also in the Viper and Ragin Cajun shoot earlier that day. My daughter was one of the kids chosen to ride over and over on the car with the camera on the front of it. The shoot at Cajun lasted about an hour and the filming on Viper lasted 4 rides. On an interesting note, my daughter was told when she asked about the commercial airing that the filming on Cajun was being done for another park receiving a spinning coaster. Not to start crazy rumors, but is it possible Cajun could be moved to another park after this season? The reason I ask is that unless the new coaster is getting the same paint scheme, it wouldn't make a lot of sense to film this one. I don't comment on here much, but I visit the site daily and found this kind of interesting.
The places that don't have a formerly Tony Hawk coaster or a real mouse coaster would be Great Escape, Over Georgia, or Magic Mountain. Discovery Kingdom had one, but they got rid of their Tony Hawk. Out of those places, I think that the park that really would need another coaster would be the Great Escape. I think Magic Mountain would need a more kid friendly coaster like a mouse, but to me they have too many coasters. This is unless they decide to actually tear another one day for a mouse.
I would still guess Great Escape because Magic Mountain is rumored to doing something with Colossus. Great Escape also a sbno coaster that has been like that for awhile. It's time to knock it down already, and put something there.
As for Ragin Cajun leaving, who knows. I always look at the line, and it seems short most of the time plus the park has another - in my opinion, better- mouse coaster anyway. If it does leave though, it's a big enough space for a dumb Skyscreamer. I rather see Ragin Cajun leave than other rides like Condor, Sky Trek Tower, Whirligig, or the Balloons.

I didn't even know they were doing a R.C. shoot the same day, was it a "surprise" when you came there only for the Viper shoot? (side question) did you have to pay admission for that day?
Anyway, I wouldn't mind seeing R.C. gone. That ride is really falling apart, even from the day it was put in. I haven't been on it ONE time when someone didn't have to kick the car to get it moving. Or use a drill to unlock the restraints. But who knows, maybe the footage it going to be used in a generic "Six Flags" commercial?
(Another side note) Does anyone know when the igNIGHT commercial is airing? I'm guessing sometime before the premiere on the 15th?

I wouldn't read too far into it. Six Flags used footage of Kingda Ka in their promo for Goliath at SFNE, footage of Rajun Cajun could be used for anything.

I love this post so much. As much crap as people give Buccaneer Battle, at least that ride works

They told us when we were checked in that there was a change of plan and we would be going to R.C. first. They did also have a few fright fest characters riding with some of us. I already had plans to be in the park that day, but those that weren't didn't have to pay admission. We were checked in at 4:30 outside the gates for the shoot, given a meal voucher that we were given about 30 min to use between R.C. and Viper shoots and escorted into the park. At closing, those of us that were there for coaster shoots were allowed to wait inside the entrance while the Ignite shoot participants were checked in. They said Viper commercial would air in a couple of weeks, but they didn't mention the Ignite commercial.
