As always one of the best polls around since it uses a scientific formula to rank everything, this year based on 635 ballots this year. It seems Viper just barely made it into the top 50 (#49), and oddly American Eagle moved up this year to make it into the top 100 (#94) out of 168 wood coasters in the world today. Also after looking at the results and you can see the win loss percentages and all that, I think the best way to look at them is with the 19 year chart. You can see where each coaster has ranked every year since 1994 when Mitch Hawker started the poll.

Its unbelievable to me that even after the way Mt. Olympus let Hades, for lack of a better term, go to hell that it still ranks so highly. Looking at the data over time it kinda looks to me that rides fluctuate up and down as people visit the park so my best guess is that there hasn't been a great reason to go to mt Olympus recently so the memories of what it was get voted on rather than what it has become.
In either case its a great poll and very interesting to look at the rankings. Thanks for sharing it!

Having ridden very few woodies this is surprisingly accurate.
Out of 168, Little Dipper is around 147, which is quite higher than I expected. However, Leap the Dips was higher than AE, which is a total and utter joke.

It's always funny to see TPR and minions trying the skew the poll...
As a Voyage fan I'm always interested to see who killed its score, with the answer this year being Robb Alvery (rated 47th), Elissa Alvery (rated 41st), some guy named David T (rated 47th), our very own Ken (rated 45th), unnamed person from W. Virginia (40th), unnamed person from Pennsylvania (84th), Scott Hebert (41st), Dollyfood's own Pete Owens (LOL who ranked Voyage 54th out of 54 woodies), "CoasterBob" from California (48th), Andrew Fisher (40th) and David Lipnicky (106th). Pretty much everyone else had it in their top 10 with many #1s.

To me, this poll is dead.
Been dead for a few years. At this point it is used to advertise his China trips. I also love Pete rating it last, which warms my PR heart. All that said, I would rank The Voyage in the bottom half of my list. Beats the living hell out of you and to me that is not a sign of something fun.
Blue Streak at Cedar Point? It's at 65, I'd call that kinda low. I think it's easily one of the best coasters at CP, def in my top 2 there. CLP's at 75 is about right with how it's running, though I guess at least it's running.

Blue Streak does a lot more than Eagle. Let's look at the big picture and get rid of the hometown advantage, Eagle really doesn't do anything much at all. The first drop is pretty lame as far as most coasters go, tall but poor engineering with no airtime, there's 2-3 spots of mild airtime on either side(one spot of decent airtime in the back car dropping out of the barrel if the brakes are light), there's an endless helix that's currently riding quite rough and doesn't work on a racing coaster, it has way to many trims, ineffective hills, etc. It's really big and pretty looking but that's about it.
Also I won't even touch on American Eagle's cars only cause Blue Streaks are pretty bastardized as well, though in a head to head competition, which is similar to 2 bowls of excrement, I'd have to say Blue Streak's bowl smells just a little less offensive
Blue Streak, though it's been a few years since I've been to CP during the operating season, always seems to run consistently, running pretty smooth and most if not every hill does something other than limp over it, at least in the front or back cars.

As stated before this poll is ruined in a marketing effort for TPR trips. As much as I used to love this poll, it's worth nothing more now than Alvey's opinion directly.

The only thing I remember about Blue Streak is pain.
Apparently the same stuff I have been smoking. Eagle to me is a ride I still don't get any of the love for. Rough ride, no airtime and uneven races rank it low for me.
On Blue Streak, it was a nice enjoyable ride but nothing amazing. Gives a smooth ride, some airtime and brings me back to the station in one piece. I also thing a lot of the love for that ride is how bad the coaster collection at the park is, along with how split the opinion on the big 4 of the park are.
Blue streak is rougher than Eagle's Blue side, and that's saying something. The only seat on Eagle I don't like is "Towards the back". The best is the first two rows. I honestly don't understand why you people like Blue Streak.....It's honestly the 2nd worst wooden coaster I've been on.....Number 1 is unsurprising: "Mean Streak"

I don't get the rough part on Blue Streak. I did around 45 rides on it in 3 days and had zero issues. Now Mean Streak on the other hand, is a different story.
Goku1910 wrote:Still in the top 50% I'm probably more disappointed that it out-ranks American Eagle. Seriously, That piece of crap is better than the EAGLE!?
Yes, it is. Next time you are on Blue Streak ride it in the front car. Then you will feel what others are talking about.
I have to agree that Eagle is overall more fun than Blue Streak in my opinion. I didn't find Blue Streak all that painful (unlike Racer at KI), but it wasn't as exciting for me as AE. Maybe I'm just too attached to AE since it is my favorite coaster at SFGAm, but it's just my opinion that it's better than Blue Streak. Both are great woodies though, that I'll agree on.
