Wasnt there one built at Cedar Point? How tall was that one? How tall are Sky Screamer's usually?? I have a semi-fear of heights so something insanely tall would definitely give me an endorphin rush!!! :D

A similar model, WindSeeker was built at CP which was a rather enjoyable ride but didn't last long at the top of the tower. I would love to see TrailBlazer's spot occupied in 2013 and hold off on Iron Wolf's location until 2014 or 2015. A SkyScreamer wouldn't be bad but it would probably fit County Fair or even Hometown Square more than Southwest Territories.

I'd love to see Sky Screamer squeeze into Hometown Fun Machine's spot.

^ Just what we need. Taking out a very reliable ride when there are other places available. Also, I don't think there would be enough clearance.

And a big neon colored tower sticking out in Hometown Square would look so out of place. I love the corner that HFM is in because its quiet and and secluded. That's what makes HMS great in general, no big thrill rides, quiet, good theming. A sky screamer would ruin that atmosphere.

I know others have said this before, but I can't find where it was posted, so...

An extremely tight/compact woodie would be quite exciting in IW's spot. Of course probably all of the trees in the area would have to be removed, but if they could replant a bunch, the atmosphere would be perfect. No one is ever around that area of the park, since it's so far back and there aren't many rides around it. Plus since only the entrance is touching the main path, the rest of the ride is secluded anyway.
This video was posted semi-recently by GCI: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pee7s7cbWm8
That is (very probably) too big to fit comfortably where IW was, but I wouldn't care if it had to be real small.

Does anyone else think the area is too small for a quality wooden coaster?

Something similar to Viper at least size-wise would be awesome. Besides I think our park is more than appropriate for wooden coasters. For some reason wood coasters remind me of the midwest while steel and similar coasters remind me of the east and west coast.

Btw I noticed this site has slowed down...probably because of the off-season now lmao.

If that roller coaster was built in it's place, I'd say that that would be a good replacement. Although I'd prefer something a little more unique to the park that would only fit a a park like ours.

I'm all for custom designs and all. I just stumbled upon that video and thought its small and compact layout was simply in the spirit of what might fit in that area. Of course you could really pack a lot of track in the area, but it depends on how much the park wants to shift existing structures and such.

I want to see a family thrill coaster such as Verbolten with some special effects and maybe a drop section. I think they would be able to make a good wilderness themed ride to something of that style. My number one option of course is a wooden coaster however.

Those are some sexy looking trains. They also look quite confortable. Where were these when we still had Iron Wolf?

^ Nothing has been done to the trains that will improve the ride experience in any way. They replaced the seat padding and harnesses, but they are exactly the same as the old ones except for color.

^ Yeah, I think you are right. If you look closely at the lowering mechanism on the far left, you can see wear and tear. Maybe the seat and restraint are entirely new, not the train.
Push down, then pull up. Exit to your left/right. And, enjoy the rest of your day at Six Flags! Your friendly enthusiast Kyle.

^I guess your right, they still are the same trains upon closer examination. My bad. They just look so nicely refurbished that they don't seem to resemble the old ones.

I'm going to assume that they at least tightened the harness posts. Remember how you could wiggle the harness back and forth a centimeter or two in the station? I'm guessing that's where a large chunk of the roughness came from.
I always wondered why they couldn't have tightened the posts while they were still at Great America though....

Six Flags America's Facebook has posted pictures of the track, which is being painted. Some areas may be finished, others are definitely just primer.

You can still see a little bit of the red on the last tie of that segment. For being such a plain look, it fits the Apocalypse theme well.

rust?

All I see is some old maroon paint showing up on a few track pieces where they have been primered but not yet painted.
