My daughter said while she was in line for Revolution yesterday, a group of girls were in front of her who were looking right at IW with the missing drop, and one said, "I don't want to go on it today. It's too rough," being totally serious. My daughter had to explain to them it was being torn down and shipped east. That drop sure would be "rough" right now! lol
Looking back at that map I posted earlier ^, I believe I WAS mistaken about the old Eagle's Flight Delta Flyer station. On the old map, it appears it was right next to Rue Le Dodge (current Condor area) and not one door down for the old Shockwave/current Superman entrance queues. Oh well, I'm gettin old, wish we had digital cameras way back then.........I would've had a million pix of everything, instead of a half dozen Kodak 110 pics still hiding in a shoebox in my garage.
Yeah, there's not much of anything left. I saw a lot of the remaining track pieces in the boneyard from the Scenic Railway. Looking forward to what Iron Wolf looks like next year.
Was thinking of Wolfie today because i had a headache!
Don't fight the Bull, ride the Bull!
Best 2011 Moment: "I lost my phone on Raging Bull!" "WELL I LOST A SOCK!!!" Best 2012 Moment: "No good! DREAM ON!" Best 2013 Moment: "I came here for Auntie Anne's pretzels and coasters......in that order!"
That last cluster of pics really made it finally feel real. I've said it before I've grown up with this ride from the time it was a pup til it became a rabid maniac. It's a bittersweet end of an era!
I was at the Speedway Monday late afternoon on my way back from Cedar Point and I saw the crest of the lift hill go down Grand Ave. I was took tired/hungover to really realize what I was seeing until it was too far away to snap a picture.
So does this mean any Iron Wolf merch will no longer be sold? im assuming the answer is an obvious YES but just wanna make sure. A buddy of mine wanted to ride IW last year but found out the last day it was getting removed. lmao. He was hoping to make it to the park before the season ended so he could buy something Wolf related but never was able to find some time to get to the park.
The Raging Bull stuff at SFStL are actually branded for SFStL. They say Raging Bull at Six Flags St Louis, which of course is my favorite ride there
Pretty much everything that was IW branded that was at the park on closing day of this year, will more than likely be there opening day next year, probably at an extreme discount.

/\ No, my guess would be that either because the supplier made a mistake, or miscommunication between SF and the supplier, somehow it got printed and shipped to SFSTL. Then it ended up on the shelf because whoever does those things and their managers are ignorant to what rides are in what parks (which I wouldn't doubt). There was one time I saw a Six Flags Astroworld Batman hat on sale in Flags at SFGAm and I asked the manager why it was there and if it was for sale, and she said it happens all the time and pulled it off the shelf. Unless theres some sort of conspiracy to sell different rides merch at different parks.
Its worth it to make an effort to look at every store at parks because you never know what funny and completely innacurate stuff your going to find. At SFOG this year we were just browsing through the stores and saw a shirt of Carowinds skyline with SIX FLAGS written on it (i'm assuming they sell this at all Six Flags parks) and they were also selling DejaVu postcards in one of the stores even though the ride was removed over 3 years ago. They also used to sell shirts that said "RIDE - SIX FLAGS [insert park here]" and it had a picture of Xcelerator at Knotts Berry Farm.
Sometimes I think the people that design the shirts do google image search for roller coaster and put it on the merchendise. I know it's true with the website designers since SF's official website has put up some pics from this site before and from a friends Flickr account.

Even with Raging Bull, Evel Knievel would still be by far the best ride there

Common sense would say no, however I have a friend that went to Magic Mountain this summer and he said they were still pushing Terminator Salvation merch so I guess anything is possible. Of course that ride is still there, but well you know..
Depending on how tall a Sky Screamer is, I actually would love one at our park. The taller the better!! But again, if its not that tall, meh I don't want it. Wasnt there one built at Cedar Point? How tall was that one? How tall are Sky Screamer's usually?? I have a semi-fear of heights so something insanely tall would definitely give me an endorphin rush!!!
If by Sky Screamer you mean Funtime Star Flyers, they have been made anywhere from 130 feet all the way up to 400+ feet in the case of the one at Wiener Prater. The "standard" Star Flyer is 60 meters which is about 230 feet. The quasi-clone made my Mondial at the Cedar Fair parks is right around 300 feet.

I'd love a Sky Screamer, as I think we could use another thrilling flat ride, just not in Iron Wolfs spot as that could have better uses. Could fit nice or in Trailblazers spot, or in place of those stupid go karts.
^Trailblazer's spot may work. Go Karts like it or not are going to be here a long time. The fact that they built a brand new track this year means they're still making good money even with high gas prices.
