Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

It's close to SFNO Batman the Ride color scheme that went to SFFT. Looks nice, but supports are black instead of SFNO's gray ones.

I'll be there tomorrow. I feel like riding it back to back for the last 3 hours of the day, but I bet my brother wouldn't be down with that :D

Monday is pretty much the most perfect day I could go, because 1) I don't have cross country practice, and 2) I don't have school Tuesday. Hopefully no one shows up from ACE so we can get on the last ride :P

Rode Iron Wolf yesterday. As much as I hate seeing it go, that was one terrible ride. Glad I got to enjoy it over the years... I think in the 2005-2006 season, it was my favorite ride! But now, meh.

Its really the coaster enthusiasts that really like the ride. Yeah at first I liked it as well, but as time passed by, after a while, IW really isn't that exciting anymore. But ah well, we are getting something better by far for next year! :D Goodbye Iron Wolf. You were the stepping stone for B&M to make them one of the biggest roller coaster companies in the world, you were the first coaster that made me puke lol, and you have given us all memories of a lifetime. Maybe I'll see you in the near future on a trip. GOODBYE!!

They can always order a 7 car train or simply upgrade the restraints to the newer ones although doing so won't make much difference based on my ride on carowinds' vortex last month.

I haven't ridden Wolf since '09. But I would most likely be there if I could. It's gonna be sad seeing the old boy not there anymore next Spring. We've seen too much of that over the last decade (Shockwave, Vu).

I think I'll have an aspirin in Wolf's honor later tonight.

On this day, September Fifth, Two Thousand Eleven. Iron Wolf has given her last ride at Great America.

She was a good coaster, but like all things, had her flaws. When she was built she was the first of it's kind, and the first of many births of proud parents and architects Bolliger and Mabillard. She held her spot in the back of the park like a champ in the County Fair area. An imposing figure and fearful structure, many palms became sweaty waiting in line watching her go through the run. Who could forget her alter ego around Halloween, during Fright Fest, as Iron Wherewolf? Complete with hordes of creepy ghouls surrounding her making her even more intimidating.

Sadly towards the end of her spectacular run here, she started to show her age. There were bumps and bruises on her. Wait that was the riders... In all sincerity, she did get rough around the edges. Still a fun ride if you knew how to tame the beast. If you didn't you were in a world of hurt. It was known for a while that she was on life support, and thus came the time to pull the plug. Tonight the last go no go was given and she gave her last breaths here at Six Flags Great America.

The good thing to know, is that, while she will be missed here. She will be moving on to a new place, given some TLC, a face lift, and wow a whole new batch of people.

Iron Wolf we knew ye when. We knew ye now. Sad to see ye go, but ye shall rise again in 2012 as Apocalypse and captivate a new audience.

So long Old Friend.
Push down, then pull up. Exit to your left/right. And, enjoy the rest of your day at Six Flags! Your friendly enthusiast Kyle.

6th to last ride. If I didn't get a little greedy and simply waited a little longer to get my last ride in I could have easily made it closer to the last (but probably not the actual last). Total IW rides for the day was 6, 5 of them being back-to-back straight through to the end.
Man, is that ride exhausting! No relaxing on the old Wolf

I was a bit disappointed by Six Flags' non-existant send-off (woo, balloons, so cool!), but it was to be expected considering the public's opinion of it.

All I gotta say is that guy deserves some new trains. I hope Maryland loves it.

I was a little intimidated by the big group of older people just standing there outside the entrance, just WAITING the whole time. I contemplated entering behind them when they went in together, but I wasn't sure what would happen.

I've already had a very satisfying last-ride on Raging Bull though. August 20, it was 9:50, just got off Superman, and the 6 of us SPEED-WALKED to Raging Bull, and we arrived JUST as a staff guy had grabbed hold of the chain to close the entrance. Best ride on Raging Bull ever. We even started a (admittedly it was a little immature) "ONE MORE TIME" chant that got pretty loud, and I was SURE the guy was going to let us, when all of a sudden the girl, his assistant, tells him no, and we all get off.
(sorry for the off-topic story :S )

RIP Iron Wolf <3 Thank you for the memories, some of which I don't remember ;) JK I will miss you greatly despite the complications we ran into a couple months back, I still love ya. i hope SFAm gives you the TLC you deserve because I will admit, I'm nervous you'll "fall apart" there. Ugh...why do I feel literally choked up?! Make fun of me all you want, but if you've ever worked a coaster, you'd agree that they have personalities, as if they're alive! so every time I see this happen to a park or a ride, I get upset. It just turns my stomach. :/
