Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

With Six Flags in major debt, i highly doubt that.
Top 5: 1) El Toro. 2) Maverick. 3) Millenium Force. 4) Diamondback. 5) X2.

Major debt? No they're not. With Shapiro running the show still then they would still be in major debt yes, which is why he got the boot and everyone got sh!t attractions this year.

Thanks to Al Weber they have about 700 million to pay off right now. When entering bankruptcy protection they were in the billions.

They were somewhere around 2.2 billion in the hole before bankruptcy, and around 850 million after from what I read. That's still alot. Hopefully it's dropped since then, as acquaz mentioned.

$850 million with the razor thin profit they make is gigantic. This is assuming they can make a profit each quarter.

Update about SFGAm: V2 now has pirate chest bins, and Iron Wolf has two cheap looking plastic tubs for items.

God forbid we have to wait another few years for a coaster!   We've waited so long that its just forget it. We've waited so long that I frankly think there's no point in complaining. As for 2012, why would we get another coaster the year AFTER the 50th anniversary? :? Plus, there are tons of things that many people don't think about. Did you know that there is so much scenery that can be seen from the top of Raging Bull that it takes at least 3 visits to notice everything??? I tried it recently and my friends and family agree. We went all different times and saw something new EVERY SINGLE TIME. Then, we went when it was horribly windy and it was insane! We also went in the pouring rain! We also went when it was extremely humid and during the morning, afternoon, night, late night. This is all for Raging Bull. Must I go on? Then there's 14 other roller coasters and a number of other thrill rides! So many people are looking for a new thrill. Why not look deeper at the things that are right in front of you? :)
Last Visit, American Eagle BACKWARDS 5 times in a row right before the park closed. I cannot WAIT to go back for Fright Fest!

^You hit a key point in that post. When at the park, just take a minute to enjoy the park.

Something that always bothered me was the 50th anniversary nonsense. I'm willing to bet 95% plus of park visitors have no clue that there is even a Six Flags park in Texas celebrating it's 50th anniversary next year. Even if 5% knew, why make the push to add major rides to every park? Learn from Walt Disney World, where the anniversaries are nothing more than marketing pushes. Next years 40th anniversary down here will feature merchandise and maybe a parade/show.

Has anyone noticed that they aren't doing the whole 50th anniversary stuff with the other parks, just Over Texas. Has Al Weber mentioned it once. Hmmmmmmm.

Maybe its not that big of a deal to him. Hmm. Maybe 2011 is just another operating year to Al Weber. Yeah... 2011 means absolutely nothing to the guy like it did to Mark Shapiro.

^Well, Six Flags Over Texas is the only park celebrating it's 50th anniversary. On a plus, Shapario did give the park an amazing gift in the Texas Giant redo.

In my opinion, each of the parks should get some big addition on THEIR 50th anniverary. Less confusing, less money, etc. in 2024, Great America will be celebrating its 50th anniversary... maybe not OUR 50th xD But what we all must realize is that we don't just have awesome roller coasters, we have world renound roller coasters!

-Whizzer=Last coaster of its type left, only coaster in the WORLD to have a spiral lift hill
-American Eagle=Longest, Fastest, Tallest Racing Roller Coaster in the WORLD
-Batman the Ride=WORLD'S first inverted roller coaster
-Little Dipper=Somewhat WORLD renound historical roller coaster
-Raging Bull=WORLD'S first Hyper Twister Roller Coaster

That's quite a few world records and WORLD renound roller coasters! I mean...as I stated before, there are so many things at our park that cannot be seen in one visit. Plus, to all those people wanting a new roller coaster so bady, will NEVER be seen. No matter how cheesy and deep it sounds, enjoy the park and take a few minutes to do so next time you're there.

The same model as Whizzer that at Worlds of Fun is now in Columbia and still running. http://www.rcdb.com/1392.htm
-Little Dipper=Somewhat WORLD renound historical roller coaster

Chicago yes, not much outside of that. Not an insult to the ride, it's just not famous.

Raging Bull=WORLD'S first Hyper Twister Roller Coaster

Raging Bull was advertised as first by the park but it really wasn't, that was Fujiyama at Fujiku Highland (also Cedar Point advertised Magnum was the first coaster over 200 feet tall, which was actually Moonsault Scramble at Fujiku Highland).

Little Dipper isn't world famous. It's just a Chicago legend. You want a world-famous roller coaster? Look no farther than Cyclone at Coney Island - THAT'S world-famous.

^Thank you. Outside of coaster enthusiasts, most people would never even hear of those coasters.

Found a better overall pic, can clearly see it's a steel train from Gerstlauer.

love the new Texas Giant trains other than I wish the grill was more realistic. They will come in aqua, black, & red an article said...somewhere...or was it Screamscape. :/ haha.

Well SFDK announced "Skyscreamer" but due to the height restriction there, the tower is 150ft. Seems like a great addition to this park as well. I'm fairly excited for these in the chain.

EDIT: Has anyone checked out the ad for "Skyscreamer" at SFDK?! You can full size the image on newsplusnotes.com & I have two things to say...

The park in the concept art looks like SFOT! So maybe one is comin there next to Texas Giant for 2011 as it depicts in the artwork.

Two, the male in the pic is the same guy, look & everything used for old SF ads ridin BTR. I swear I've seen him in brochures & whatnot! Just wanted to point those out.

Even though what we are receiving for 2011 is great and, in my opinion, much better than a used roller coaster, I still left out of the fun. Great. We have the best water park. It's an amusement park...any thoughts on when we might get a new coaster :(

The Rocky Mountain Construction booth at IAAPA had a display of their steel "I box" track that is made for wood support structures and had a video of Tremors at Silverwood which showed how they have been re-doing portions at a time to steel track that is mounted on the wood track and makes the ride a lot smoother/better for maintenance. Silverwood also hired them to build Aftershock. They were getting a lot of buzz at the show, we saw Corey the Gravity Group guy at their booth checking out the new steel track.

Nothing wood about Texas Giant anymore other than the supports.

New track system looks pretty nice, though I'm really curious to see how the rigid steel track holds up both short and long term on a very flexible wooden structure.
