Believe me, Im not in anyway advocating SFGAm adding one of these things. As your right Blade, it would do nothing for capacity for our park. But it seems like when Six Flags starts adding new flavors of the month, SFGAm usually gets in on it.
I think a Euro Fighter would help capacity a lot. One side for American Eagle is supposed to be 670 people per hour, so if a Euro Fighter really gets 800 people per hour, this will definitely help out. I imagine Viper, and Demon have to be around the same amount of people. Superman is supposed to 800 people per hour, and V2 + Iron Wolf were around the 600 people per hour, so what's wrong with capacity??
In regards to capacity, for flats it might say 400 people per an hour, but people hardly ever wait more than 15 minutes for a flat. If capacity is an actual 800 people per hour with a Euro Fighter, and you have exactly 800 people in line, that's a hour wait, and people will actually be in line which will help the park out keeping those people away from another roller coaster. For instance, Iron Wolf isn't really helping the park that much. It's become more like a flat line in regards to time. For a 15 -20 minute wait, that's only 150 people in line, and that is what mostly Iron Wolf's line are composed of unless it's an extremely crowded day. You help capacity in the park by having rides that are great enough that people will want to wait in. If the park decided to get another Triple Play, that's not really going to help the park at all in regards with capacity because no is going to stand that long in line for either Triple Play you have in the park.
There's another side to this story though. By having lower capacity rides like 800 people hour compared to the thousands of people for a ride that Disney has, are you eventually making your customers unhappy for waiting too long? Though, you always hear people go well the park was empty a particular day, and thus we didn't stay that long because we hit up everything we wanted to. Disney World has the convenience for people to go to 3 other parks or a waterpark if they finish a day, and want to leave. However, though Disney for a lot of their rides have long rides. By this I mean, how long is a Splash Mountain ride, and how long is the Carousel of Progress, and Dinosaur, the African Safari thing, and so on? By having longer rides, they can have a higher capacity too. There can be virtually no line for the Pirate's of Carribean, but yet you spend 10 minutes just on that ride because of the preshow, and the ride itself. It's can be confusing what a park really wants to do with capacity as in keeping guests happy, and keeping them actually in the park the whole day, and coming back for more days too.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
Ilovethevu, you usually bring up very good points in your posts, but there are a few things in this one I disagree with. Superman is supposed to be able to do 1100/hour. Iron Wolf has to be more like 950 ish. The eagle should have been able to do more like 1000 side when it was new, but the problematic restraints slow things down today. IW, viper, and the 3 rides above, all have trains that hold at least 28 people. Demon is 24. Dare Devil Dive is 8. And you know darn well that our park would never spring for duel loading stations. They would make sure this ride can be staffed by 5 or less people. I envision 1 loading and 1 unloading station. 2ops for loading, 1 for unloading, and 2 for controls, and no single rider line. Overall, I see this ride being 150% of what dark knight is for capacity, but not double, because of 4 across loading and OSTR's. I believe TDK is around 400/hour, so I would put this one at 600ish. This is Six Flags we are talking about here, not exactly a great model for effiency. In answer to your question "are you making your customers wait too long?" This is something our park is very good at doing. They don't care. It all depends on the attraction. I can see people waiting patiently for 2 hours for something epic, or life changing, but I don't see this coaster as that. A B&M dive machine would be much better for capacity.
