Mt. Olympus 8/19/2010

Let us know how your day at the park was.

This was my first trip to Mt. Olympus. Here's a basic rundown of what we did and my thoughts.

Hades, 3 times
-We rode this first thing when we got there at 11:40. It was at least a half-hour wait and we went in the back row. I did not expect that drop out of the station to be so steep/big, lol! I actually had no idea before we were in line that there was quite a bit of track before the lift hill. Thought that was cool. The lights were on in the tunnel. I thought it was pretty cool, but found it rather rough. After riding this and all the other coasters in the back row, we both were thinking this is a park to only visit once, and once is enough. But that changed after we rode Zeus, Hades, and Cyclops in the front row. So, later in the day we rode Hades in the front row and the lights were off. AMAZING!! I was blown away. Much much better in the front. We rode it again as our last ride in the front row and bought an on-ride photo for it. I definitely want to come back and ride Hades some more. I also bought a Hades shirt that was 50% off. Oh, Hades was my 65th coaster. Yay. I love it and wish we could've gotten on it more.

Zeus, 3 times
-We went on Zeus after riding Hades for the first time, and we went in the back row. Thought it was an interesting coaster but was a little too rough in the back row for our taste. So later on we tried the front row and loved it! This is a very good coaster. Did it in the front row again later, however had to wait a bit because someone was stuck in their seat so they had maintenance or whatever come by and get them out.

Cyclops, 2 times
-The first time, we rode it in the back row and we could not completely figure out why you have to be at least 18 to ride in the back. Anyhow, it was pretty cool, but rough in the back. Later, we rode it in the 2nd row (because the first row was closed off) and had an enjoyable ride. I thought this was a pretty cool coaster.

Pegasus, 1 time
-We rode this in the back row, thought it was decent.

Opa, 1 time
-Of course this is pretty much like Ragin Cajun. I think RC is better, though. This was a fun ride though.

Poseidon's Rage
-We were in the wave pool for a bit and thought the waves they did were very fun. It was nice to cool off in the pool.

Go-Karts
-We did one of the go-karts after swimming, it was the one that was right by the water park. Not sure what the name was. But I found it to be very fun and I had a fast car, originally I was probably 7th place, and got to 2nd place by the end of it. I could've gotten 1st if I had a little more time.

We had a very good time here and we definitely want to come back next year. Oh, we also got discount tickets from CVS for this place, it was well worth it.

Oh, by the way, we are going to SFGAdv next week! My first time! I am so pumped!

Yeah. I was supposed to go on vacation to the Dells with my boyfriend and his family, but his dad kept changing the week to go and I can't go the week he eventually set it for. So the boy and I just went to Mt. Olympus for a day because I just really wanted to go there.

I am crazy in love with Hades. I think Ive been to mount olympus for or five times this year and Ive mostly just rode Hades. Fron row is just amazing, and if you can handle back row, its one crazy coaster. The drop seems much steaper then it is, the tunnel has some nice unexpected turns and bunny hops, and 2-3 hills that just have some insane airtime. Glad you enjoyed your time!
Top 5: 1) El Toro. 2) Maverick. 3) Millenium Force. 4) Diamondback. 5) X2.
Coaster Count: 167 (41 Wood, 125 Steel)
