Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Wouldnt it be just GREAT if one of these were installed at a six flags?
Only if over the shoulder restraints are installed!

OTSR's would be extremely pointless on a Star Flyer or similar clone. It'd be exactly the same as OTSR's on Whirligig.

Wiener Prater is actually already one of the oldest (1766 is when it was allocated for public use) and most recognized parks in Europe. However it is a city park, not an amusement park, the city allows various Fairground operators to operate rides in the park, very few rides and/or structures are permanent, however in the past 5 years or so there has been a push to bring in more permanent attractions. This of course being one of them. And along that same theme, the other 70 meter Star Flyer is semi-portable and operates without any foundation.
Also worth noting is that the Ferris Wheel there called Risenrad is one of the only true Ferris Wheels left, was built in 1897 and uses converted rail cars for gondolas, though half of them were destroyed in WW2 after being bombed by US forces as part of a demoralization campaign (along with most of the rest of the park).
http://www.wienerriesenrad.com/index.php some cool stuff there.

I'm guessing it's an illusion with the angled crane next to it and a slightly tilted camera. Could be a fisheye lens also.

Just want to say right now, while I'm sure the work on the star flyer is continuing there was a death at Wiener Prater this past week and all the news coming out of Prater is about that. Apparently someone tried to re-board the Extasy ride after they got off and the ride had restarted and he was thrown to his death. As soon as new Star Flier news comes out, will post it here.

Sad.. but thats what he gets for being drunk, how stupid can you be to be drunk at a amusment park. Sounds like a recipe for disaster for me.
